Yeah it blew my mind because there wasnt much in front of the exhaust manifold once the engine cover was taken off, although I was working around the exhaust manifold I just cant remember what for. Either way I doubt it was the best solution

It's not a constant airflow neither a constant load

It'll make temperatures vary more broadly

Instead you can have a very hot exhaust side, that stays hot but controlled

Really the main reason for that turbo placement is space

and then a cooler intake side which speaking very crazily may make the head gaskets more prone with the heat difference per side. the front mounted will also have faster cooling cycles as you said so its basically does the same thing too but may be worse idk
