Short explanation dpi is linked with polling rate, polling rate is dynamic, you don't have 1000hz constantly.

For example typically 1000hz can be achieved with 400 dpi or more.
2000hz will need to be slightly above 800dpi
4000hz will NEED to be 1600-2000 dpi
