can only handle so many before a stall, and thing about maitnence of the vehicle and the resource scarsety, eletric vehicles will be better to recharge than refuel as the resource can be made pretty easily, and gas, well, good luck making gas, it also depends on if your an adventurer or not, and i am one so it would be better for me, as for gas if you let it sit it will last longer than ev so thats the way to go, just make sure you have an area you can produce gas from and your good.

the cars textures seem to be somewhat worn depending on the vehicle. the d series has light rust on the frame. the bastion has a slightly worn steering wheel, as well as some d series interior colors

a scratch mod could be made by completly overhauling the beamng paint design with 2 paint designs, paint 1 is a scratch gray color and when sharp objects or high speed objects hit the car it removes paint

going to put this a little into the code languge so bare with me, if car is hit by node going (for this we will use 20+mph just as refrance) remove paint, else keep paint on, if car is damaged after getting hit, remove paint around the affected area, if the nod is attached to a painted object ad painted object collor to affected area. or something close to that
