Depends on what exactly you're shooting

For bodywork details, absolutely, but for whole car shots, f/4 or even 5.6 might work better to get the whole car in focus. Also depends on the focal length. If it's a 24mm, 2.8 might be ok but id it's an 85mm, stop it down a bit
