i must say that the devs did an amazing job, as there wasnt a single instability (the flash is from vulkan being vulkan)
the bottleneck was obviously my cpu, at the start i was getting around 1 spf and at the end it ended up being about 4 spf (seconds per frame)

So, to accelerate, I pull the mouse towards me.
To brake, I push it forwards.
To turn, I move it in the direction of the turn.

And the rate of the acceleration, or the severity of the turn does depend on the mouse movement, so it's kinda like a wheel and pedals.

Just takes a while to get used to, but it is WAY THE HECK better than using the keyboard.

The location has changed for mods and such since then. Go to that same AppData folder, then: ⁨local > BeamNG > BeamNG.drive > current⁩

Or to find it even easier, ⁨launch BeamNG > Manage User Folder > Open User Folder⁩

Automation cars can have their engines and fuel tanks swapped out for a battery pack and electric motors

so you can get a quality modern looking Automation mod and just convert it

The main issue for me with automation cars is the jbeam

Sometimes the wheel width can’t be adjusted as much as the body will allow and people like widening it realistically and that makes a wide tire race tire feel like a model t’s tire

The EV traction control and stability control systems don’t even work properly and anything you do will spin the wheels

The fix is changing one line btw and was given to the exporter devs but they still haven’t fixed it and it’s been a year

1st person through a screen can be more immersive than 3rd person through a screen, but depending on the resolution, you might have to choose between being able to read the gauges and being able to glance at your mirrors and such without turning the camera
