But real talk. DevOps. I need to get a good boiled down definition. Our entire class is legit wondering. Just a poor instruction quality for this one topic.
DevOps is the work of executing source code more efficiently over time. You may or may not have written the source code, but you are definitely writing your own code around the source code to automate tasks.
It typically includes owning the CI/CD pipeline and managing serverside resources.
The line between producing executable code and operating code constantly shifts and overlaps, and varies greatly between organizations.
Ill toss my take in here:
DevOps is automating portions of the development workflow to streamline and standardize the process of building, testing, deploying, etc.
I like to think of it this way. If it relates to the process of building & releasing software, and it can be automated, it should be. Thats DevOps
