@deft remnant and @prime relic 's challenges are back!
This image was captured by Landsat 8, a satellite that orbits the Earth every 99 minutes.
It captures images in multiple bands of the electromagnetic spectrum. Here, you just see the visible light bands, which are the ones that are most similar to what the human eye sees.
But where was Landsat-8 looking when it captured this image?
What is the name of the archipelago in this image?
You can use this thread to discuss the methods you used to find the answer and ask for help!
Please make sure to spoil any of your answers so others can continue to work on the challenge.

Multispectral satellite images can reveal useful information about the world, such as mining activity and changes in vegetation.

TIL there is an island named after Landsat satellite
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landsat_Island

I can't find a thread for the second image so I'll ask here. There are two questions. I assume the second one is from an older challenge right? We need to answer the first

First of all, thank you for the new challenges! I've been checking every day lol

I was able to get ||Mayotte Island|| quickly via ||google lens||.

Also thank you for the new challenges. Never done satellite searching so a new skill for me.

I'm fundamentally lazy so thought I'd try || Perplexity.|| Initially it gave wrong answers - easy to check on || Google Earth ||. When I told it that it was wrong and gave more description and asked for more suggestions the first was the correct answer!

By the way I think that the correct geographical name for this archipelago is ||Comoro Islands||
