Looks like an air ambulance

NBC10 Philly says, per the Philly office of emergency management, that this was a small medical plane that took off from NE Philly airport, en route to Missouri.
NE Philly airport is a small airport, separate from Philadelphia Intl which is in South Philly
NBC10 reporting very low ceilings bc of rainy weather
That jives with NBC10 reporting
New footage- plane goes vertical before impact.

Another angle of the impact, handheld- shows the fireball
Updating thread title since we know flight #
XA-UCI / Philadelphia Crash
||Came down like a missile - dang||
can we spoiler tag this. not to backseat mod, just extremely distressing
is this rate the airspeed, or purely vertical descent? If the latter, you could pretty reliably calculate actual airspeed from this value + the angle of attack with some trigonometry math
Warning if you're looking into this
There is a video on twitter that appears to show someone (likely a civilian) walking away from the impact area__ on fire __after the accident, Not sharing for obvious reasons.
Aerial view of the Philadelphia plane crash site.
Debris is being found over a quarter mile away. https://t.co/c2U8ZYVu7N
https://vxtwitter.com/jason_paladino/status/1885483695202852937/photo/1 NOTE: assumption about aborted landing appears false. Flight path nonetheless correct.
does anyone have relevant timestamps in this clip?
Pretty much the first half or so of the clip pertains to the flight - most of the back half is discussing NE Philly airport closed, and flights being diverted. By about 18 mins left (since the time counts down), the ATC is saying they have an aircraft lost.
Around 26, 25 minutes, you can still hear ATC and the medevac pilot on radio
Reports of "multiple injured" at nearby hospitals relating to this incident per fire chief
Around 24:25 ATC starts trying to contact the medevac and they can’t seem to get them
By 21, they are saying there’s an issue at NE Philly
okay yeah I got to that point
New dashcam footage- very close to point of impact, looking at the Roosevelt Mall signage. Included first frame for sorting purposes.
||https://x.com/IntelPointAlert/status/1885500603763216732||
is there an explosion before impact
In this audio recording the NE tower contacts Medevac at roughly 01:00, 04:12, 04:39, 06:24, 07:21, 07:21, 07:50, and 07:54.
At 09:01 another aircraft asks, “what’s going on down there”. The tower responds “We have a lost aircraft. We’re not exactly sure what happened, so we’re trying to figure it out. For now, the field is going to be closed, so no inbounds and outbounds, probably".
There is a video of someone’s door cam in the reporter video via this link and in it, it appears that the plane might have already been on fire when it fell from the sky
https://6abc.com/post/northeast-philadelphia-small-plane-crash-cottman-Roosevelt-Boulevard/15852260/
It's likely the same explosion- obscured at first by the building to the right
Closest footage, so far
Philadelphia Man records the direct aftermath of a plane crashing in NE Philadelphia
Working on verifying potential patient age, if any was on board. insanely conflicting info
local and national outlets are publishing diff numbers of passengers ugh
Local news is reporting 6 people on the plane (6ABC)
AP reports 2
Yeah I’d go with local personally
This is a clip from the 6ABC link I posted above, which shows the ring door cam and what appears to be the plane or part of it on fire before it hits the ground. This contains distressing imagery and it’s repeated by the news folks so warning
Just to note, the flight path here seems to be correct but ADS-B data suggests they did land, thus the assumption about an aborted landing is false - they made it down, then took off some time later - but otherwise the above path seems correct
Patient onboard was a pediatric patient per initial reports, and likely a parent was accompanying them
Ok that’s it I gotta log off. When it’s kids, I can’t really handle it.
Always keep your mental health in check, incidents involving kids are always the most fucked ones to cover.
All onboard reported to be Mexican Nationals per NBC (said on air)
Patient was receiving lifesaving treatment, funded via a charity
New post footage- you can hear people yelling "Get down" near the filmer- someone on fire was likely on this side of the impact.

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance is based in Mexico
NBC Philadelphia: "Pediatric patient on flight was returning to Mexico after 'life-saving treatment'"
https://t.co/kuBmRt3m4d
Apparently, they were all Mexican nationals, per NBC, and headed back to Mexico post-treatment
do we know if they were able to get the fire put out
On the person? Likely in the ER as of now, and utility trucks are apparently on scene so i'd wager it's at worst, controlled
on the building
gotcha
Fuck me, that kid was probably discharged from CHOP
This has been a very long month, news-wise.
yeah................
Ah there's a body on a roof apparently,
is that being reported on tv
Saw an image i'm not sharing.
The most extreme censoring possible for this- fully blacked out, location of the body that was thrown.
There are videos recorded looking at the flames directly next to this building, (They likely had no idea there was a body above them)
Just saw the video and regarding that photo, I’ve got a bad feeling of which body is on the roof.
Debris flew through window of diner on Cottman Avenue and hit customer in the head as he ate dinner several booths from window.
Looks to be the top of the oxygen cannister seen next door at the Mcdonalds
Sorry for the low qual 3rd image- first source I pulled
But yeah this is missing that valve.
Yeah, for anyone who hasn't seen a tank go off before... the slightly larger acetylene and oxygen tanks we use in welding and cutting (but essentially the same thing) will easily go through multiple cinderblock walls and sometimes concrete walls reinforced with rebar. Gas under that much pressure is unbelievably energetic.

Hi, can you please add a description to the link? Thanks!
I sure can.
What looks to be the point of impact per Getty Images- A body can be seen on a roof in the background
The sidewalk was ripped up somewhat. Extremely violent impact.

wonder if it got flung very far
February 2, 2025: NTSB B-Roll of investigators searching the Jan. 31 Learjet 55 crash site debris field for airplane wreckage in Philadelphia, PA.
For those who want a good idea on how deep the impact crater is
February 1, 2025: NTSB Chairman Jennifer Homendy briefs the media on the NTSB investigation of the Jan. 31 crash of a Learjet 55 in Philadelphia, PA.
NTSB investigators have recovered the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) of the Learjet 55 that crashed on Jan. 31 in Philadelphia. The CVR was located at the site of initial impact, at a depth of 8 feet. More information: https://t.co/EUU7AyiE06
8 FEET???!
Considering the black box is a metalic box with recording systems inside it (yea im oversimplifying it), im not shocked it went deep
..given the state of.. everything else- I would reluctantly agree in saying that the black box is in relatively better condition than i'd assume it'd be in.
