Hey folks.... just a gentle reminder to take regular breaks and look after yourselves when monitoring this event.
Drink lots of water, go outside and take a couple of deep breathes, go for a walk, stretch, pat the dog/cat and look after your own well being.
If scrolling through videos, sound off should be the default.... you can turn it on if need be and if you are approaching bedtime, maybe log off an hour or two before and chill to reset.

IDF tends to have accurate casualty lists for their own, mostly because they are conscripts and their families and communities would be angry if they didn't get acknowledged on the granite walls. And it would cause further outrage if the published count was different from journalists' counts of the granite walls. As an addendum to the notes about reading casualty figures above, as it is something I have seen people get confused by many times before:
- because Palestine does not strictly speaking have any State armed forces (this is probably the general view but especially as recognised by Israel), in principle under international law (and Israeli law) the armed Hamas militants would not be “combatants” but would be “civilians taking direct part in hostilities”. In theory all casualties can therefore be reported as “civilians”, with the distinction being between civilians taking direct part in hostilities at the time and civilians not taking direct part in hostilities at the time.
It’s something to be aware of because people will misuse this both ways, e.g. reporting legitimate targets as civilians, but also people suggesting no one are civilians because some NGOs reported that the civilians were “not fighting at the time”, which is just legalese and doesn’t necessarily suggest they were fighting previously

there are at least two escarpments this could be in Qusra. hard to tell from either footage alone, which may be entirely separate places.
