Nice! Just to make sure I follow this is not intended to switch Dagger's container runtime with smol but allowing users to run smol VMs within Dagger, correct?

Sounds like it is possible to change that runtime too though. Any interest in creating an interface that dagger supports any runtime (smol, container runtimes, etc)?

if such interface can be created sure! I guess where I'd start is to create discussion in the dagger/dagger repo to support multiple container runtimes and throw a rough proposal there for bikeshedding purposes
