I personally host using Oracle so I can't say much about the server host.

Try loading the mods you use on the server into a singleplayer world.

Thats how I test things before I trial them on a server.

If it crashes, check your latest.log

(I use a headless system, so I can't advise anything about your server ssh or the like.)
