#why steam and rails not updating at 1.18.2
24 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
it's a version that's 2.5 years old, it's been long enough that most people have updated to 1.20.1 so we've dropped support
its not worth it for the team to backport to older versions when we could be working in updating the mod for newer versions/adding new assets
Cry About It
Why don't the other mods update?
There in the process of it (if you mean VS track work clockwork etc)
ok, but my point was why should snr release a new 1.18 version
if the other mods could release a 1.20
trackwork 1.20.1 is indev, and clockwork already has 1.20.1
Interactive is also 1.20.1 by the way, basically you're just waiting on the trackwork 1.20.1 release
not exactly, and interactive is imo the worst released vs2 addon
It's as much released as it is for 1.18 at the least, and I'm not saying whether they should use it, but clearly they want to
tournament is 1.18.2 mostly, and it has some good shit
Tournament's latest version is also available for both 1.18.2 and 1.20.1-1.20.6
its a beta, thats why I said mostly
I've also found later versions of vs mods to be more stable
especially clockwork
1.18 also doesn't have a stable release so I don't think that's a valid reason to say it's the main version
its developed on 1.18.2
Actually it seems to have moved to developing on 1.20.1 and backporting based on the commit history
Not that a ton of development happens there in general
Seems to sorta go back and forth to some degree
idk given that the most recent 1.20.1 commit literally says it was taken from a 1.18.2 commit kinda shows its sticking with 1.18.2
Idk how people use it so much honestly, just hearing it breaks deployers on contraptions was enough to steer me away, that's a very important feature for a lot of contraptions
