Bogey bearing for the pivot. Two Options to put on it: regular bogeys for more than two per car, or more customizable, wheels. Wheels would have various sizes from tiny to huge. There would also be connectable side rods and pistons with many types, sizes, shapes, and other options for steam trains. Could be placed in various ways to allow for many options like in real trains. When connected to pistons it would make the trains slightly faster. Would allow for trains like the Union Pacific Big Boy to be made realistically.

This! oh my god this! I just want to make train’s without “unlinking” or “articulating”
train bearings?
oh yeah "bogey bearing"
been suggested before, it's articulation done differently
The idea is for it to be an optional addition, you can still just do it normally if you want.
Oh, sorry, I didn't know it was already suggested, but the side rod idea seems pretty unique.
what does "customizable side rods" mean though?
how I understand it, extended bogeys (or snr if it absorbs it in the future) will be doing the heavy lifting for actual steam bogeys
It means you can place the side rods yourself, kind of like belts, and attach them to the same structure the wheel is on with a piston. The side rod will then move with the wheel like on a real train.
What benefit would this have over regular bogeys that have the side rods by default?
hmm
i just like the idea of custom wheel size and id also like to see customizable wheel amount on a bogey (so basically u can customize the length of it)
There are way more possibilities as you place them yourself. Plus, with the piston they could actually connect to a structure.
Yeah, and since it's block built, you can customize the style and much more.
