#Add fueling and electric functionality.

Here’s my idea.
Trains as they are right now in Create Mod are absolutely awesome. However, adding more realistic stuff would be AMAZING. For example, in creative mode, you could drive trains with no problem, however if you go into survival, you should have to add coal to the trains in some chest or add a new fuel feeding block. And powered trains can be powered by a new item called “Supercharged Coal” or idk.
And about electricity, PLEASE, add trains that work the same, however instead of fuel, they rely on electric cables with some component that connects them 🙏🙏 or add a new block that can be placed on tracks just like observers or stations, that will charge the train and give it the ability to travel another few blocks before it needs to be recharged again. Electric trains have so much potential, hell, trains in create have SO MUCH MORE potential.

For the coal one, you could just set the non powered train speed to 0, so of they don't have coal in a chest on board they won't move

wait you could like make it a toggleable thing in the create menu for example: Require fuel for trains to work. I know this is kind of the exact thing you said above with the powering thingy but would add alot more realism imo

The problem with having a fuel requirement for trains is that they're able to move in and out of loaded chunks, but adding such a requirement would meant they'd have to stop at a station within loaded chunks to refuel, and unless you're using a chunkloader mod you'd be moving around a lot which would rapidly shut down your entire train network

although how about electric trains functionality? They don’t need to refuel as they just need the electrical wire connected to the train. So those could technically be implemented right?

It's a really neat idea don't get me wrong, but it might be better to have it work like the current fuel system, where it's either mostly for aesthetics or only provides a speed boost when the refueling station is loaded

True but we could make the wires always active regardless of being fueled/powered or not. I was thinking of them as an aesthetic yk? This would cut from the realism, true, but electric powered trains would be awesome. Basically heres my entire concept:
Electric Trains, (that don’t emit smoke or give steam sounds, let’s say for example they would use sfx like when metros leave a station or arrive, that would be cool asf) anyways these trains need to be connected to wires above them (the wires dont need to be powered), or you could place a train powering station on the ground that automatically enables trains to travel some more blocks before they need to get power again

I feel like the train powering station that would be placed on the tracks would be doable, it wouldn’t be like a station so it wouldn’t stop, but let’s say for example that they would allow the train to travel 50 more blocks before they lose the ability to accelerate and slowly lose all speed

Reading this gave me an idea, if i may share it:
Assuming one would keep it loaded, how about a power station that provides electricity to the rails themselves, like they do with third-rail tracks. And it would provide power to a certain radius/length of track around it

I've been thinking about parallel calculations for create contraptions, yet I don't know how to do it and whether or not it's feesable to do this within a lifetime

True. But if implemented, even as a separate "small" addon, could be accompanied by a "Requires chunkloading"
Create: Arcane Engineering modpack has that as one it's important tips, as it has a ton of locational resources
