Hi! 👋 Please first click the button below to start this support ticket.
⚠️ It is not possible for anybody to send messages in this ticket before it has been started, so you need to click the button for others to be able to help/answer you.
This could be related to these existing reports:
- Video background replaced by placeholder textures
- FancyMenu thinks Watermedia failed even though it loaded the video
- Game intro / video shows purple-black missing texture squares
- Native video background stays black while audio plays
First, please make sure you’re on the latest builds of:
- FancyMenu
- Watermedia V3
- Watermedia Binaries V3
Also, if you’re still using the old Video [MCEF] type, switch to the new native Video background.
Next, send me your /logs/latest.log from right after the issue happened.
I can’t debug this properly without the log file 📄🔍
If it still happens with only FancyMenu + Watermedia installed, it’s very likely a FancyMenu bug and you’ll need to report it on the FancyMenu GitHub.
If you want, I can continue in German 🇩🇪
oh yeah, the purple square issue really sounds like it is related to what happens for me 😮
Yep, that really sounds like the same purple/black missing-texture issue 😮🟣

- open the instance folder
- open

latest.log
Important: grab it right after the problem happens, and please send the latest.log, not a crash report.

Log Overview
There are two notable issues in the log. First, the Jade Modded Entities mod failed to initialize its Jade plugin, crashing internally with a NullPointerException because it could not find its platform helper services. Second, FancyMenu failed to initialize its video player, reporting that it was unable to find the MRL#createPlayer method, which points to a compatibility mismatch between the installed versions of FancyMenu and WaterMedia.
Potential Problem Solutions
To resolve the Jade Modded Entities error, try updating or temporarily removing jademoddedentities. Since the game reached the main menu successfully anyway, you can ignore it if Jade isn't broken in-game. To fix FancyMenu's video playback failures, ensure FancyMenu and WaterMedia are updated to fully compatible releases, as API changes in beta/RC releases of WaterMedia often break older integrations.

What the log says
FancyMenu fails to create the Watermedia player:
unable to find MRL#createPlayer(..) method
That usually points to a Watermedia version mismatch / incompatibility.
Your log also shows:
WaterMedia 3.0.0-beta.12WaterMedia Binaries 3.0.0-rc.1
So the most likely fix is to update/reinstall Watermedia V3 and Watermedia Binaries V3 so they match and are the latest builds 🛠️
Also make sure
- you’re using the new native Video background
- not the deprecated Video [MCEF] background
This could be related to:
- FancyMenu falsely assuming WaterMedia failed to load a video
- Game intro - video doesn't work - purple/black squares
If it still shows the purple squares after updating and testing with only:
- FancyMenu
- Konkrete
- Melody
- Watermedia V3
- Watermedia Binaries V3
then it’s most likely a FancyMenu/Watermedia bug, and you should report it on the FancyMenu GitHub with this latest.log 🧩
