I’m checking what this is tied to and whether it’s a FancyMenu issue or a Drippy one 👀
I’m checking if this is a known FancyMenu/Watermedia video decoding issue and I’ll peek at the video details too 🎥🔍
I found the video is pretty high-res and 60 FPS, so I’m checking whether that alone could be the problem or if the file itself looks odd 🧪
I’ve confirmed this looks like a FancyMenu intro/video thing, and I’m checking for an existing bug report now 🧩
Hey, this sounds like a FancyMenu intro video thing, not a Drippy one 🙂
I checked the file info and your intro is a 2560×1440, 60 FPS H.264 MP4. The Watermedia mods are the right dependency, so this looks more like a video playback/encoding issue than “missing mod” trouble.
What I’d try first:
- Re-export the video at 1920×1080 or lower
- Use 30 FPS
- Keep it as H.264 MP4
- Make sure it’s 8-bit / yuv420p and not HDR/10-bit
- If possible, test with a shorter/simpler clip first
That red/green flicker usually happens when the decoder or GPU doesn’t like something about the video file, and 1440p + 60 FPS can sometimes be the trigger 😵💫
If you want the most reliable workaround, try making the intro an AFMA animation instead of a video , that tends to be way less finicky.
If it still flickers after a simpler export, send me your logs/latest.log plus your Minecraft version, loader, and FancyMenu version, and I’ll take another look 🔍🎬
would you like me to upload the actual intro video?
Yeah, that would help a bit , I’m just making sure I ask for the most useful version/info so we don’t go in circles 🙂
Yeah, if you’ve got the original intro file or the exact file you’re using in FancyMenu, that would help a lot 🙂
If you can, even better would be:
- the video file itself
- your
logs/latest.log - and, if you know it, the video’s codec / resolution / framerate
If you’d rather not upload the file, just sending the video properties is also super useful.
And if the file you already attached is the exact intro video, then I already have it , in that case the latest.log would be the next best thing 🔍
here's the intro video itself.
Got it , I’m checking the actual file now to see if it’s the video encoding or something in the clip itself 🎞️
I’ve got the file now , checking its actual video properties and a couple sample frames 🕵️♀️
Yep, thanks , I checked it 💡
Good news: the file itself looks normal on paper:
- H.264 MP4
- 1920×1080
- 30 FPS
- yuv420p
- 8-bit
- standard bt709 color tags
And the frames I pulled from it look fine offline too, so the video file itself doesn’t seem obviously broken. That makes me think the red/green flicker is happening during Watermedia playback in-game, not because the clip is corrupted.
What I’d try next:
- re-export it one more time with the most conservative settings possible
- use H.264, 8-bit, yuv420p
- keep it at 1080p or even 720p
- try baseline profile if your editor lets you choose it
- make sure you’re on the newest matching Watermedia API + Binaries versions
If it still flickers after that, the next best thing would be your logs/latest.log from a run where the intro plays , that’s usually where the useful clues show up 🔍
If you want, I can also give you a super-safe HandBrake or FFmpeg export preset to try.

🙋 | my intro looks weird (flashing lights warning)
This might be more of a bug in fancy menu v3.9.0 so please report it in github
Did it work fine in previous versions?
not too sure, i've only used the most recent version
I’m checking whether this already matches an existing FancyMenu issue, and I’ll see if there’s anything useful to tell you about older versions too 🙂
i can test in previous versions
Quick update: I checked FancyMenu issues and I’m not seeing the exact red/green flicker report yet, so I’m preparing a clean bug report for it 🙂
Yeah, you can test older versions, but for this specific case it probably won’t tell us much 🙂
FancyMenu didn’t support intro videos before 3.9.0, so older versions won’t really be a “did it break there too?” test for this exact video feature. They’d mostly just confirm that video intros weren’t available yet.
I’ve already opened the bug report here: GitHub issue #1583 🐛
If you want to help narrow it down further, the most useful next test would be:
- try a different intro video
- or re-encode this one to a very safe format like H.264 + 8-bit + yuv420p
And if you can send logs/latest.log, that’d be super helpful too 🔍
@warm violet paused AI answers for this thread.
it does seem like the AI was right, custom intros weren't supported in previous versions, i'll also provide latest.log
i'll use the bug report the AI created and upload the original intro and my latest.log
alr done

So it looks like it is another Bug for 3.9.0, thanks for reporting it
it is not a FancyMenu bug.
