#✅ | change the text
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
To change text inside FancyMenu you usually edit a Text element or the label of another element (like a button). Open the layout editor, right-click the element whose text you want to edit, and choose the text input that shows up. For Text elements you get the full editor with Markdown support, and for buttons/labels you can type in plain text or a Minecraft JSON component.
If you need formatting, Markdown (for Text elements) and Minecraft formatting codes (for buttons/sliders) are explained in the Text Formatting doc. Placeholders (from the Placeholders page) can also inject dynamic text such as player name or option values.
Let me know what kind of text you’re editing (Text element, button label, placeholder output, etc.) if you want more specific steps!
i dont see a button tht says text element
If you don’t see a “Text” element already, you can add one yourself:
- Open the layout editor for the screen you’re customizing.
- Right-click the editor background (not an element) to open the context menu.
- Go to New Element → Text and place it where you want.
- Right-click the new Text element and choose the text input to edit its content (you’ll get the full editor with Markdown support).
Once it’s in the layout, you can also edit existing Text elements the same way—just right-click them and edit the text field.
Need help with formatting or using placeholders inside that text?
i only see text input field
If you only see a Text Input Field element instead of the Text element, that’s still editable the same way:
- Right-click the Text Input Field (or whichever element you want to change) and choose the option to edit its text content.
- Type in your new text in the popup/editor that opens—this supports placeholders, Markdown, and formatting (see the Text in Menus doc for what the Text element supports).
- If you meant a button label, right-click the button and edit its label field directly.
If you’re trying to add entirely new text, right-click the background and go to New Element → Text to create a proper Text element. Let me know what exact element you’re editing if you want help picking the right field!
Of course you see a Text element, that thing is in every version of the mod..
Try scrolling the context menu in case there is not enough space to show all element entries.

Great! Now that you’ve added the Text element, right-click it and choose the text editor to type whatever you want. You can paste Markdown, plain text, or placeholders (like {"placeholder":"playername"}) to make the text dynamic.
If you need help with formatting, check the Text Formatting doc for Markdown/JSON component tips, and the Text in Menus page for all layout-specific options.
Let me know what kind of text you want to show if you’d like a sample! 😊
