I think you could go back, and it's fine to give yourself advantage/disadvantage on rolls for things that you do not want to see happen. But yeah, the whole ||Alfira|| incident really shook me, so I would not want to experience it again so soon!

Another idea I had was to give Chav a specifically class-related outfit every time she multiclasses. Bard lvl3? Light bard-themed armour (like the one ||Volo|| gives you). Paladin lvl4? Full plate. Wizard lvl5? well fuck you, back to no armour for you 😅

OK. I bit the bullet and got Karlach back! I even did a little trick where ||I killed her once with Wyll in camp, then went back and revived her from a distance, long rested, got the Infernal Robe from Mizora, and then went back to her like normal and recruited her just fine.||

In a way, I did, in fact, keep to my dice roll! I can have my cake AND eat it!

I was thinking about a potential run. Like starting with a Mystra Cleric who befriends Gale, and then learning the severity of what happened between them and reclassing into a Paladin of Vengeance

I can also imagine a really stubborn/crisis of faith type of Cleric who tires to justify it like "well Gale did ||put a Netherese orb in his chest||, you know that's not exactly the best idea... and while telling Gale to ||kill himself was harsh, maybe it was a test to see if Gale is smart enough to refuse and therefore strong enough to get back into her good graces?||" and then she hears that special line from Minsc about how ||they would hide young boys with magical talent in his home village because Mystra has a history of going after young, gifted wizards|| and they finally realize that worshipping her is not worth it.

That's why I ||am putting off Shadowheart becoming a life cleric until after her act 2.5 face turn. I figure it fits for her to go from shar and trickery to Selune and life. Plus I really don't want to have to deal with what you just described||

Also, I wanted to do warhammers and battle axes for my oath of ancients paladin (i like hafted weapons more than swords for some reason), but I may have to go with a specific longsword. It's tied to the drow goddess of Joy, dance, art, and other oath of ancients-y things (and my headcanon is that she's one of the gods he worships, partially because of the connection to his "profession" and partially because I thought it would be funny to have a Tiefling raised by tieflings worshipping a drow goddess). She's generally super nice, even giving blessings and favor to people who don't even worship her

My Act 2 experience has been a bit odd, and I'm not sure what caused it. Astarion never asked me to ||get Raphael's help to explain what's on his back||, instead we had a scene where ||he and Dav tried to figure it out for themselves||. I wonder if that's because we don't encounter ||Raphael at Last Light Inn|| if ||the Tieflings|| aren't there? (Astarion also wasn't in my party when we reached the ||Mausoleum||)
Also without ||Dammon|| to tell ||Karlach her engine is gonna blow||, she had to hear it from ||Yurgir|| HypeCry
All in all Act 2 feels so much shorter without ||Halsin or the Tieflings||, like I think we're all done and ready to go rescue ||Aylin||

This is very interesting. I don't know if this was recorded, or is just the remains of cut content. Either way there was at some point a version of events where both Dammon and Minthara made it to Act 2. But the way the game is currently, that banter is categorically impossible to get (unless you attempt the ||sheepthara|| approach maybe? But like, that is for sure an exploit).

The key is to kill her without triggering her cutscene, reviving her without triggering her cutscene, and making sure that Wyll is in camp far away from her when you do both. Then you bring him along and trigger the cutscene after duping Mizora (1 long rest later)

Oh the key is to only make her temporarily hostile, so that she's only temporarily knocked out and spawns back again, otherwise knock out counts as death and she never respawns (I know that from experience).
In the guide I watched the person had managed to ||kill (or "kill") all leaders|| without aggroing everyone, so when they went back to Minthara she wasn't hostile

In my current playthrough ||killing Gut|| quietly was easy, but ||blowing up Dror Ragzlin|| immediately aggros everyone permanently, I actually ended up engaging in combat with Minthara, but ran away so that she didn't die. Which means this whole experience is very funny from her point of view. "These people easily killed everybody here and.... ran away when they saw me???"

What's tragic about ||Orin|| is that even in a Durge file (I was spoiled, Act 3 info) ||Sarevok confirms that Bhaal doesn't even think highly of Orin. Sarevok, Orin's Mother, Bhaal, and all of her associates think least of her. Not one relative of hers cared about her. She was the last person to find out that not one person in her inner circle thought highly of her, and that she only got the Netherstone because no one else was available||

Bav's usual base speed (with crusher's ring and longstrider) was a "mere" 18m per turn, boots of speed are what made it absolutely mad at times, I didn't add the mobile feat in the end because girl really didn't need it. A barbarian will 100% be faster than a bard with that juicy juicy unarmoured movement!

Last time I fought ||Gortash I yeeted the runepowder bomb at his face, but it was extra tricky since I was trying to get the "no traps activated" achievement, which means luring him into the antechamber (where all traps were destroyed) for the main part of the fight (the runepowder bomb by itself can't one-shot him)||

I'm still a long ways away from that, but am already thinking about how to approach the ||Raphael|| fight this time around. Last time, Lae'zel dished a glorious 500ish damage across 10 critical attacks. Now what happens I sic Minthara on him, potentially with a dip into fighter, which would give her a good 7 critical smites. The problem is that ||Raphael has this annoying "punish divinity" passive||, but so to people who have actually ||destroyed the pillars in this fight, do those buffs go away with the pillars||? Or is crit smiting the fucker to death a no-go?

||If you don't have her go with Wyll she dies outright. For Karlach to live it's either Avernus under Wyll's protection or become an Ilithid. Those are her choices, unfortunately. And sicne I get locked out of Halsin's romance scene if she goes with Wyll, I have to make her become Ilithid if I want her to live||

||Wyll has always broken his contract and become Blade of Avernus either way for me.
I do think Karlach could go to Avernus with Wyll in this playthrough, but it's not been brought up at all since Dammon hasn't been able to offer it up as a solution, so feels weird to just spring it on her ya know. Also I gotta make a different decision, poor Orpheus is getting a bit tired of becoming tentacley I'm sure||

I actually really like Alfira where she is. She feels more vulnerable and real, and her emotional range sets the tone for Last Light Inn really well. Everyone else is angry and like "yeah... that sucks" (bar Rolan, who is full on "FUCK YOU" about it), but you can really feel the depth of sadness coming from Alfira. She works so well there, much better than if she was in the party.

Option 1 - keep it as is: I could have my Gale romance file leaning closer to evil than neutral, but less full on Evil and more "haha chaos is fun!", and eventually encourage him to (act 3 spoilers) ||take the Crown of Karsus for himself in Act 3||. Their angle here would be that ||if they're going to make any kind of decision, it'll be because they want to not because the Urge told them to.||; Then I could have my Lae'zel romance be "neutral", i.e. not necessarily a Good Person, but not an Evil Person either, where his goal is not to make the world better or worse, but rather just make himself stronger and stronger until he has true independence. A plus of keeping this one is that making Gale a squirmy seems fun (in theory).

Option 2 - switch them: I could have my Gale romance file be "neutral", which would make them keeping their Oath of Vengeance a lot easier and would be less traumatizing to Gale. I could also run them as someone who is less selfish and more "oh hey I'm kinda failing upwards on this journey"; Then I could have my Lae'zel romance be "naughty", which she would probably handle a lot better than Gale would, but dipping her romance's toes into more evil territory won't sit well with her later (acts 2 & 3 spoilers) ||if I want her to grow as a person and side with Orpheus||.

Gods this game is amazing. ||if you take Rachael's deal (I fully intended to just break in and destroy the contract later) with Karlach present she gets super pissed (understandable) and declares that they're going to go to the house of hope and grab the contract, despite swearing to never go back to the hells. I'm not sure if this is just a romance dialogue (kinda doubt it, Karlach seems like she'd be ride or die either way), but the arc is great||

You won't get the ||Potent Robe or any of Dammon's stuff going Minthara's route anyway,|| so I believe the Infernal Robe is the best thing you can get until Act 3 on an evil run

yeahhhhhhh could try that, there's also the "cause chaos in the grove" approach which ||involves letting Wyll and Karlach fall to their deaths, getting the druids to kill the tieflings then mopping up the remains, and finally reviving Wyll and Karlach, ||but like.....I feel I should just accept the consequences of being a big old meanie

Selayna is the "naughty" one, and she's less "evil" and more "CHAOS IS FUN!!". She does have a moral compass, but it's usually drowned out by "Let's Fuck Around" (and she remembers both she and other people have feelings when its time to "Find Out")

Dark urge spoilers ||As much as I love Alfira I feel like her murder is a really important story beat for my durge. Having intrusive thoughts about murder and fucked up memories is one thing, but murdering Alfira is what really engraves the fear, disgust, self-loathing and panic into my good durge's character arc of trying to be a better person||

Act 3 spoilers ||You also get a really nice set of moments with Jaheira. Since she's traveled alongside a Baalspawn before she picks up on it pretty quickly and can become a source of hope outside of just the "I believe in you" the rest of the party gives. She knows a baalspawn can overcome their urges, she's seen it, and she knows how to deal with it. There's a scene where you wake from a nightmare and she's watching over you. Not hovering, not poised to strike, just sitting beside your bed, making sure you don't hurt anyone, and the narrator says you sleep soundly for the first time in a while. Ngl, teared up a bit there||

hmmm this is strange. I've been having some dialogue bugs with Jaheira (||keep getting the chance to ask her about that scroll but she never fully delves into it||) and Shadowheart (||I have literally all of her options available, two that lead to the same branch about their romantic relationship (one is with the Act 2 text and one with the Act 3 text) and one that I'm assuming would normally appear if Dav had not pursued a relationship with Shadowheart any further than Act 1||)

Some spoilers but more emotional gobbledyguk ||you don't actually have to tell them this, it just relates (i imagine this would be distressing to them). Karlach as a character straight up helped me break down a good number of emotional walls. Cried for the first time in years when I found out her condition is essentially terminal, and I've been able to feel in ways I hadn't for a while. Never had a game effect me this way before. The cast really brought it to this.||
