I had it and Jaya's immolating inferno in hand (Raggadragga as commander) and if I had a different mana dork that tapped for one of any color rather than just green, I could've tapped it for 10 red, cast city on fire, untapped it with Raggadragga, then tapped it for 17 and done an X=17 Jaya's which would've done 51 damage to both opponents 😭

I'm thinking about putting Lavinia in my Convoke deck, with the caveat that I need to make sure I tap at least one land or rock for every Convoke spell.

Also, Secure the Wastes is really really good. I've never had an opportunity before to take advantage of it, but I was able to this time.

Sublime Archangel is also something I should put to use.

The trouble I am running into is that a lot of the convoke cards in the deck are just "Big Creature" and outside of Kasla, few of them really impact the board.

Kasla is good because she can swing immediately, can still convoke afterwards, and can replace your convoke spells.

Any excuse to use her again.

Opponent cascaded off of Maelstrom Wanderer into an Avenger of Zendikar. So glad I played Hushbringer the previous turn.

I've been adding utility 1 or 2 mana creatures to my Kasla deck, and then adding stuff like Knight-Errant of Eos and Return to the Ranks. Good Convoke stuff is still kind of slim pickings.

Invasion of Segovia (flipped), Wand of the Worldsoul, and Flockchaser Phantom give spells convoke. Really wish Fallaji Wayfarer was not green.

Chief Engineer would be decent if I had more artifacts -- It gives artifact spells convoke.

Hmmm... I might consider it.

Just counting the gates and that's what it seems like. You then have Thran Portal and Simic/Dimir/Golgari Gates from RTR block and GRN/RNA.

I'm really liking my Nikara/Yannick deck -- Always wanted to make a silly +1/+1 counters deck that wasn't Ghave and here we go.

Some Doctor Who stuff was revealed. "Time Travel" is a mechanic in at least the Jeskai "Timey Wimey" deck -- It allows you to add or remove time counters off of your permanents and suspended cards. Cumulative Upkeep specifically puts time counters, right?

The Tenth Doctor has an activated ability for 7 that let's you Time Travel Thrice.

I didn't think Time Travel was that strong at first... except each instance of Time travel lets you add or subtract for each permanent or suspended card you control.

So I can imagine possible chaos here.

I've considered building the Simic suspend before but we'll see what's all in the tenth doctor cause it could be pretty cool

I'm still trying to figure out what works for the Jeskai Convoke deck. I don't think there are enough good Convoke spells for Kasla, and I don't want to make it too heavy towards tokens. Wondering if I should try a "tapping stuff matters" deck?

I do want to switch to Saint Traft and Rem Karolus as a commander, just because Kasla really is only good if you're going the commander damage route.

Maybe a new take on my usual Spirit Shenanigans?

Melek allows you to cast Adventures off the top of your library and copy them, which gives you a lot of value

Or Kess allows you to cast Adventures from your graveyard, sending them into exile on an adventure allowing you to cast the creature again

I played against someone using Maelstrom Wanderer and dang do I wish I had drawn and played the War Doctor.

So I have two deck concepts I want to try: Partnering the Ninth Doctor and Wilfred and doing a Jeskai Shrine / All the Upkeeps deck, and an Eleventh Doctor deck that just runs low mana costs, Exalted, and Unblockability.

Double strike for the latter would be nice, too.

The cool thing is that I'd only have to pull out three cards from the pre-con which I can replace with other Suspend or Vanishing cards, leaving a Mostly-Intact Timey Wimey Precon with Tenth and Rose at the helm.

Ninth/Wilfred is going to want mana rocks because Wilfred can't get lands - I misread him at first. That being said, he seems to be the best parter for Ninth because Wilfred's ability triggers at upkeep.

Only 3 of the shrines in WUR have upkeep triggers, but more shrines help all shrines, so why not use all 9? Also, Wilfred can grab 5 of them.

Delayed response, but idea if you want to torture people: the initiative is very very good for upkeep.dek

Plus obviously, the Court series of cards that trigger on upkeep as well

I'm trying to get some of the Court cards, but I completely forgot about Initiative.

My LGS didn't have Paradox Haze, but it did have Strionic Resonator.

Resonator plus Adric (got him in the two card Collector sample in the precon) means I have some redundancy / bonus upkeeps to work with.

I want to use as many non-Who cards as possible so I'm not taking the pre-con apart much. Adric and a borderless Dinosaurs in a Spaceship were my two sample cards, and I can put those both in the Ninth / Wilfred deck.

Amy Pond works with Eleventh doctor pretty well, but she also helps Tenth and I'd rather keep the Eleventh Doctor deck as two-color. Imagine me having three Jeskai decks when I generally only bring two decks at a time.

Anyways, that would leave Timey Wimey with all but 3 cards from the precon.

So... Psychic Paper is pretty neat.

Unblockable helps Rose Tyler, Amy Pond, War Doctor, and Eleventh Doctor (who all want to punch your opponents in the face or just attack in general), and to a lesser extent, Ninth Doctor (safe way to tap). But not only that, it enables you to clone your legendary creatures. Equip it to the Ninth Doctor, rename him "the Sixth Doctor", and your Clone of choice can safely copy the Ninth Doctor. More Upkeeps, please!

So, gotta remake my Ninth Doctor deck... because I didn't notice for all this time that Wilfred does not have Doctor's Companion.

Good news is that I can focus on just Ninth/Adric (who does have Doctor's Companion) and keep it Blue/Red.

I mean... I could also use Clara, but that feels too obvious.
