#Deej still not working
30 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
run deej-debug or deej-dev and post the output
does the serial monitor in the arduino IDE work?
i believe thats what the 4th bullet point means
then it's likely the driver problem had to go through 2 versions to get it to finally work namely 3.4 and 3.9
Problem identified!
He took my soundbar, which i never use, as master volume...
Now researching that.
Not solved yet, I keep you updated.
Solved. The solution was.
WIN + CNTRL + V.....
Switch output manually once!
Guess who helped me come to that conclusion.....=)
Sorry to reopen a solved thread, but I'm facing a similar issue and trying to troubleshoot further.
Could you elaborate more on the solution?
Ofc.
I did all the fixes mentioned above.
My windows used my soundbar as "master".
Press Win + Ctrl + v
Switching this around reset "master" to the default windows sound. That was it.
Sry. My physical speakers.
The knob changed the speaker, not the master volume.
I switched it and suddenly the "master" volume was correctly recognized.
Oh maybe I misunderstood your initial post... was deej-debug working beforehand as well?
Yes. Everything worked, but I needed to switch around my output devices to reset my "master" to windows volume.
Just windows things I guess.
But I stumbled upon every issue on the way.
Where are you stuck?
Pots show values changing on serial monitor, but debug.exe doesn't show any inputs when turning the pots. I've tried a few different drivers, no change :/
Did you change the Com in the deej config?
That's all configured correctly, yep. Comm hasn't changed after driver rev uninstall/reinstall attempts
Feed chatgpt with your infos. He ran me through arduino ide and all the troubles on the way.
I copied the debug into it and he tld me where the problem lies.
Have you closed the Arduino IDE?
Is deej even starting and pops up in the botten right tray?
Yup and yup
Its 100% a driver issue as far as I can tell
So we can say for sure that Deej doesnt get access to the correct com port.
If it actually starts... Well. At exact that moment, I figured out that my knob regulated the wrong output device. It worked when I switched to my jeeco speaker and with that, anywhere in windows, master was set correctly again.
Try if your knob changes sound on any other device.
Otherwise tell ChatGPT the following:
Im setting up a volume slider in arduino with deej
Arduino IDE monitor shows it works
Deej config is setup correctly
Correct com
Here is the debug report
Than copy paste the debug
Oh it 100% connects to the correct device and comm port
Frustrating. What does GPT say?
Haven't attempted it yet, currently at work
LOL. I can reproduce my problem. 🙂
@worthy edge so reading through this.. seems that deej was indeed working and doing its job you just had your audio devices configured wrong
