I play in allthemod 9 modpack
I'm trying to understand how the monitor works, but it seems to me that not all parts of the GUI are displayed normally. Maybe I'm wrong and does anyone have a guide on monitors?

I believe it is broken, and a work in progress. I tried it myself, followed þe instructions on þe right and noþing happened

it is in fact WIP, but it should work fine, here are the docs
everything is displayed correctly in the GUI as far as i know

multiblock guide in XEI says it needs hulls, þat's why it wasn't working on my end

it says hulls are one of the accepted blocks
if you look at the guide in XEI you can also see that it accepts monitors and casings
