#Thoughts on ways to sell/"trade in" worthless garbage backpacks/lanterns

Some way to turn the "bad" aka the basic, rare and epic lamps into mythical would be a great change. However, I personally dont like the idea of going above that.

Something heavily related to this topic are event lamps/backpacks. I was not a high level player back during the christmas event and yet, my inventory is full of nearly 400 christmas lamps and backpacks. If the current early concept trade in they talked about in the news tab is implemented without any changes then I guess I just trade them all and now I have every ??? lamp/backpack in the game and nothing is worth anything anymore. This is a problem that will only get worse as im sure other events will also give you free stuff. I would probably have 400x that if I did the christmas event now.

-# Alternately, the devs could remove all the basic, everything in rare (except the tech visor) and all the epic lamps from the game since no one likes them anyway and their only existents at that point would be to be sacrificed for better lamps. Its not like anyone would lose anything if they suddenly disappeared from everyones inventory over night.
-# I think if they got rid of the "fluff" and just handed out regular head lamps to each player and all that was left were the mythical and limited rarities available to craft then practically nothing would change.
-# The lamp shop is a weird topic. 90% of the hats are not mythical and thus not worth crafting. It could just sell 1 or 2 endlessly cycling mythical items every day and not much would change from our current system. People dont like it now and even after this change, people still wont.
-# Hell, even getting rid of that one terrible "buy 3 lamps" quest would be a good thing.

So, what would be a better lamp/trade in system? Please do not suggest adding a new type of chest that only gives lamps, the game already shits itself loading most caves as is.
What if they simply tied basic rare and epic lamps to backpacks? Like you go into the backpack shop, and you click on the "sack" backpack. Under it there will be a basic lamp like the "kings crown" and when you buy the backpack for 600 coins, you get the crown too. Thats the whole idea. Assign a lamp to each of the one time purchase backpacks. Since you can only buy each backpack once, that would in theory prevent players inventory from filling up with unless items.
This is where the "trade in" system would come in. Lamps of any rarity can be put into the trade in to be turned into a higher "semi" rarity. Like 5 basic lamps can be turned into a semi-rare lamp and so on. "Semi" stuff you trade in for looks exactly the same as its real counterpart but isent tradable.
Properly crafted lamps on the other hand, do not have the semi prefix and can be traded. You can also use actual tradeable lamps to trade in too but they can only be turned into semi, like how tf2 handles crafting "uncraftable scrap metal" with the normal scrap metal. This would protect the fragile lamp trading economy. Semi lamps should have something like a gray outline to show they are not tradeable.
One thing I am looking for in a trade in system is that it doesn't give an advantage to filthy alt accounters, creating a new account, trading some money ores from their main, and just buying all the backpacks and immediately trading them in for free mythical hats and then giving them back to their main.
I am much less sure about what to do with event items like the bag of coal or present lamps. I am not sure if I want them to even be craftable as mentioned in the post above. Maybe we should have some other way of getting rid of them instead.

Would y'all be interested in some sort of way to recycle old lanterns and backpacks into random higher tiers? Sort of like a trash can... But it could possibly reward a new tier above Mythical & Exotic?

5 Commons -> Rare
5 Rare -> Epic
5 Epic -> Legendary
5 Legendary -> Mythical
5 Mythical -> Exotic
5 Exotic -> ???
5 ??? -> ???

If my post has convinced you that there is a much better way to handle trading in items then I suggest leaving a yellow :maybe: reaction on the devs original post ^ to tell them that while we want it, they have to be really careful how they implement it.
