This issue seems to have started recently. When I call the getProfilePicUrl method, it sometimes returns undefined even though the phone number has a public profile picture. It doesn’t happen every time occasionally it does return the correct value.
I tried using proxies in case it was related to rate limiting, but that didn’t help. Has WhatsApp made any recent changes that could explain this, or does anyone know how to fix it?
Note± There is also no exception occuring whatsoever.

@willow sonnet I have the same issue, when i go to the whatsapp phone number the pictures are no longer available unless are cached. You can check it by opening the pictures yourself.
The ban happens extremly fast, you don't have to check that many numbers.
As the ban is within the whatsapp client itself is something coming from whatsapp itself, no method will allow you to get the picture as those are no longer available from your whatsapp client / mobile app.
It's some sort of shadow banning, you don't get any notification nor anything.
The business profile pictures are still available and the ones of those who have added you as a contact, the rest of public profile pictures are not available to be fetched after this "shadow" ban

Have u managed to solve this issue with shadow banning as i do see a pattern and the shadow banning is real, after like x amount of minutes/hours u can again see the profile picture.
