5/4 offer
5/12 got tc numbers
5/17 declined
133k HCOL area. After negotiations, +20k bonus over 2 years
Oh damn that sucks
I wanna say it’s 139k for nyc and bay but aren’t 100% certain. My numbers are for Seattle
Seattle isn’t hcol tho? No state tax
COL is independent of taxes? If Seattle isn’t HCOL then only bay and nyc can be considered HCOL
I would say thats accurate, idk I always considered taxes as part of col calculation
It significantly changes based on where you are LIVING
wtf
they couldn't even do 133k base?
no way github fumbling
If you check out their comp bands on Levels.fyi, they're relatively low compared to other companies, including msft. They have great benefits, global remote-first and the brand name as selling point.
How much was your base?
damn github pays that little?
Was this the base salary? Also, While I expect Seattle to have lower COL than NYC and Bay area, what's the median base pay everyone's expecting around here?
@languid monolith Base was 113.8k
10% bonus (20% max)
~4k RSU as bonus over 4 years (8k max) *not included in tc
32k Msft RSU over 4 years
Hm disappointing :/ I received the same offer but pre negotiation. Sounds like they aren’t so willing to budge but I’ll try. I’ve been weighing the supposed GitHub wlb in, but they really aren’t highly competitive pay wise.
Yeah after some painstaking negotiations, the most they can give me is 20k over 2 years. Good luck on your end!
it’s cuz microsoft bought them 🤦🏻‍♂️
