Little shocked ngl, thought I did well but uhh I clearly suck at judging my performance lmaoo
did they give any useful feedback about the interviews? @mystic patio
Nope, my recruiter literally said “I can’t give you any direct feedback”
the fuck
So kind of a waste of 3 hours, but oh well. My interviewers were cool ppl and had fun meeting them
yeah nah, I always push for direct feedback, that is some BS, why they do that
she clearly sucks at email, put the signature twice
Do you think you did well on all parts (coding/case study/behavioral)?
Behavioral I aced for sure because my interviewer literally said “you did amazing” and we finished within 20 minutes so the rest of the 40 minutes was just us talking about capital one and her career. Case study was tough because my topic was cloud computing but my interviewer at the end said I found every error in the code and he was impressed with how much cloud computing knowledge I had as an entry level swe. Explicitly said I did well
Technical is where I messed up. I solved my design question perfectly but the coding question was rough for me. Definitely needed a lot of hints there and didn’t fully implement a solution (ran out of time)

Sorry for long text but yeah basically I felt like I did well overall but ig technical is weighed heavily
Nah it wasn't long, but yeah
I feel like they have a really high bar
I'm planning on using them just for practice for 2023 new grad roles
Lol idk man some people say TDP is a joke and other people think it’s challenging. It’s all perspective. It’s probably pretty easy I just suck at interviewing in general, but trying to get better at it over time
Did u not have the questions before hand?
The interview is the exact same for every single canidate lol
This is on u
They are all over leetcode discuss
Even the case and the behaviroal questions
are the same 🤣
Wtf
Like I was sad before but now
there is a discord server
Yeah I’m done
and they give u the answer
when they know u have ur interview
its so stupid
LOL
What the actual fk
Why didn’t anyone help yaboi out lmaooo
I think they changed the case study though, I never had to do the cloud stuff for my case study
for intern interview last year
Its not cloud
It's eno chat bot right @mystic patio ?
Nah that’s the one difference I got, I got cloud computing problem
Oh ok
wtf that is sus
i think theres a lot of widespread cheating, not just for cap1
sucks but thats life
yeah I dont usually do that shit
Yea for coinbase as well
capital one is 130k base + 10k bonus for nyc not 160k
but yeah idk why cap one reuses the same questions. they legit have a test bank of three questions for their tech
Cheating is cringe
I don't cheat, but tbh I don't see anything wrong in utilizing GlassDoor to get all the possible questions. If you pass the interview by using GlassDoor, you deserve the offer.
Capital One doesn't necessarily give the same questions, they do variations of it too.
theres a 2 question bank
Base or tc
Chicago is definitely MCOL and reasonable at that
I mean…does Capital One realize people are literally cheating?
Seems odd to give out 6 fig offers like candy, assuming you weren’t dumb like me and knew the questions beforehand from that discord
And they don’t PIP either from what I’ve heard
They are going to once they realize
All their engineers are paid actors who r stupid
Passing that technical without cheating is pretty difficulty
why do you say this? because they're not leetcode monkeys?
No because they are cheating their ass off
doesnt mean shit to actually perform at a job
They don’t deserve it if they can’t do a simple lc without cheating
no one deserves anything
A lot of people deserve things
For sure
Now I get how ppl are passing
Who, me?
monster
tbh im kinda being contrarian since i dont even know what the capital one questions look like
but doing actual swe work and lc are not relevant imo
Oh I definitely don’t agree that the technical is simple, especially if you haven’t seen the questions before
I’m not saying im some DS&A god but Ive done hundreds of problems at this point and still struggled with the Q’s because of the time pressure and it was a bit unclear tbh. Case study was supposed to be harder but I felt like it wasn’t bad
What was the question, so everyone can know now ?
Yeah capital one can suck me off. First question is a design question, so you need to implement a bank type of class with withdraw, deposit, transfer, and undo operations. Second question is basically add two numbers 2 from LC except this time you have 3 lists and capital one uses “BigInt” class to represent a linked list, like it’s their version of a linked list, it’s confusing. And then you also have to find the average for the 3 lists.
Have fun
Tbh, if you're able to solve it in the interview then how is it cheating? You know your shit. And they do diff variations of the Leetcode problems too from my experience.
They do deserve it if they get an offer
Because you still gotta explain everything well
Lmao not really
You just have to paste in code that you pre drafted
You don’t deserve 100k for that
Other majors sweat their ass off and barely get 70-80
You won't be able to paste in any code. It's a live coding interview, you gotta type out the code.
@wintry pulsar tbf had I known the questions beforehand it wouldn’t have been hard at all to understand the questions and then pre-plan an explanation
true
Exactly this pre plan
Nothing wrong with pre-plan, it's Capital One's fault they choose to have not much of a question bank. You still gotta know your coding stuff because they give variations of the problem too. And you still gotta pass the case study along with the behavioral.
isnt leetcode basically just one long pre-plan
