Hi everyone! Thanks for the supportive emotes/reactions! It was a long interview season and I got more rejections than I would like to remember. For those still looking, don't give up! I got my first internship in May.

Role: SWE Intern

Timeline:

  • 11/2: Got referral + Recruiter Reach Out + Interview Scheduling
  • 11/14: Interview Rescheduled
  • 12/9: First Round Technical
  • 12/17: Final Round Technical

Prep:

  • Leetcode Blind 75 Q's
  • FB tagged Q's BinarySearch.io
  • Groking the Coding Interview Patterns
  • a lot of luck and hard work

Actionable Tips:

  • When practicing, try to understand the solutions and complexities so you can generalize them to other questions. It's about quality not quantity. Also, memorizing 300 Leetcode questions is not the way 😦
  • Remember to test your solution! You can do this by either tracing through some of the test cases or just stating that you would do so if you are running low on time
  • This next tip is kinda weird, but it helped me a lot with talking while nervous. Have a template of what to say at certain points. For example, "at this point [just finished coding and stating complexities], I would test my code in two steps to verify that it is correctly conveying my thought process. The first is...".
