what do u mean, I am having the final next week😂
do they fly you out for final?
i think he means how long after hirevue?
completed hirevue on Aug 23rd @slender needle
oh snap my fault
ye i meant after hirevue
they had u complete a survey right?
@obtuse cloud
@slender needle yes they did, but still I received my interview invitation a week later than my friend
i see, i completed my hirevue aug 15 and got survey 1 week later u think i still got a chance to get final invite?
i think so
it got another grasp of ur ranking of what track u wanna be in
but the thing is im not convinced as to whether those heading for rejection get survey email or not
i think i read online that you can still get rejected after survey
there was a survey? o.O
when did you complete hirevue? Got a survey about a week after completing hirevue
people told me last year some of them got survey and still got rejected... so I am really not sure.
a probably very out of topic but do u guys think McKinsey > Goldman Sachs or Goldman Sachs > McKinsey?
in terms of salary or what they do or something else?
salary wise i think mckinsey > gs
but gs gives big bonuses
if its not salary then i'd say it depends on ur interests personally i like what gs does more than what mckinsey does
more like which company look better on my resume if I want to apply for a full time sde job at big tech company
what does gs do tho?
I think gs is more recognized than mckinsey but idk
gs offers marcus as a savings product and on top of that they trade securities and offer investment banking for clients
gs is finance oriented
no final yet
i'd only do final if they fly me out anyways
oh dang i think i saw u do a process final for goldman maybe i mistaken with wrong user
no I mean for software engineer internship, what do they do?
oh that i dont know from the top of my head but i think the job description might give some insight
im assuming they would place u into a division of the bank and do some stuff but im not 100% sure on what exactly they do
oh ok. cuz I know for McKinsey they actually develop applications for their clients so it is constant new work all the time which is kind of fun I guess??
yea that sounds fun
@slender needle @obtuse cloud I interned at GS last year, was placed into a division. They got developers in core engineering (developer tools, compliance, cloud, etc) / consumer wealth management / asset management, might be missing more but yea
I think a larger percentage of people get placed in core engineering which has a lot of subdivisions.
All the best for your finals!
