#Currently looking for new grad and potentially one last internship

first time i’ve heard of this dev degree thing that’s interesting
i think it would still belong in education?
but not sure how the others in your cohort do it
i cant figure out what languages you used in each team, would be helpful to bake that in
the rest looks fine, maybe consider adding your # on the top too
hm maybe u should intern at shopify again
who knows a 5th shopify internship might help u break into other companies
but fr should be fine, i agree on teh dev agree being education
language is important too
heard multiple recruiters say when they talk to hiring managers they usually say languages/technolgoies they want so knowing what u did is good
Iwould put education at the top if you're doing newgrad/intern search. shopify dev degree doesn't look very appealing to put in experience, esp if you didn't do any technical stuff (your bullets don't describe it well if you did). you already have 4 shopify experiences anyways, so i'd just remove it . Make your internship experience bullets more technical and technology intensive
I guess it must not have been explained well in the way I have it formatted because dev degree is the whole program that is the reason that I did 4 internships at Shopify
I'll add that in, thank you
In the actual resume, I have a hyperlink to the site here (https://devdegree.ca/)
Earn a computer science degree at Shopify through a learning and placement path that’s unlike any other program. Our innovative work-integrated learning model provides hands-on experience across a breadth of disciplines and teams, giving you the confidence to jump-start your future—wherever it takes you.
Program where Shopify partners with a couple universities and students have their educations fully paid and earn a salary while working 20 hours a week year round at Shopify
doing internships at 4 different teams
I had this point in there:
Completed 3,800+ hours of professional software engineering experience across 4 core production teams while maintaining full-time academic status
so I assumed that and the date range implied why I had 4 different internships there
man I wanted to intern at another company but I would have to drop out of the program if I did
I think it's been brought up in the server before at some point
but yeah, it's a pretty niche program
cool program, wish i knew abt it
i personally think since its in partnership with the university it should be under ur universit
y
either that or its own education thing but unless u recieve a actual degree for the program
it may be a bit misleading
i assume this more or less guarentees a shopify ro?
yeah you don't receieve any degree for it
then id add it under the university kinda like coursework
since how uncommon the program is
most ppl won't understand its meaning
ok fair enough, that's where I had it before
and i honestly think having a bunch of shopfiy internships will do the same as the program
that's fair, do you think experience at the top is still valid tho?
I feel like putting education at the top is for when you have less experience but I could be wrong
imo no, just because its a wierd layout to keep it in there and when I saw the program it looks like a certificate type thing yk
ofc if ppl read into it it would make more sense
but most ppl wont
sorry I meant, do you think it's best to keep the experience section at the top?
as in, above education and skills
I'll put the Dev Degree part back into the Education section
oh sorry
uhhh
i think for new grad u put education at the top still
once u get past new grad is when u swap it
ik ur exp > ur university's name
but thats what entry level recruiters are used to seeing
ok fair enough
that's cool, i'm assuming you're guaranteed RO after completing the internships successfully right?
