AWS (RO):
General stuff:

  • TC: 202k first year, 195k recurring
  • Location: NYC
  • 50/50 I return to intern team, not sure yet
    Pros:
  • Well known name
  • Money is actually liquid
  • Intern team was pretty chill, around 2-3 year promo time
    Cons:
  • Possible layoffs(?)
  • intern team did not do as interesting work

Startup
General Stuff:

  • product area: AI Agents and ML forecasting/workflows
  • TC: 220k recurring (175k base, 45k in equity (paper money))
  • Location: NYC
  • Valuation around 350 mill
    Pros:
  • Work seems a bit cooler to me
  • Free food/snacks
  • 3 days RTO
    Cons:
  • more risk since paper money is a good chunk of the tc

Notes:

  • If i go zon, I'd probably aim to switch after 2 years if possible

how long do you intend to stay at your first job

how many prev zon internships? Same team? Does the manager like you? What’s your org’s promo path and timeline like? WLB?

You say 45k stock — so the startup publically traded rn? Or is “stock” a misnomer for “future equity in case we IPO ahh”
