What technical question did u get asked in ur ints?
how was the behavioral part? how did u incorporate the lps. also how did technical go
Interview 1: SDE round, behavioral first, I was nervous tbh so I was kind of stuttering a lot but I practiced the LPs so I covered that really well. Technical I solved the main problem within 20-25 minutes it was building a class which contained three methods, I did most of the follow ups well but the last follow up I fumbled a bit which was explaining how to turn the code into a read heavy function instead which was basically a question about tradeoffs. I knew the idea but didn’t explain the exact steps. Q&A was quick didn’t have much time
Interview 2: SDM round, had the technical which was also building out a class, it was a vague problem like a one liner so I asked a lot of questions as I went through it and he added paragraphs as I asked the clarifying questions. These were questions like what was the format of the input and output and how we were getting in certain variables. Finished this one in probably 15 minutes, then the follow up questions were smooth, there was one that was kind of tough like a concurrency question and I didn’t get that one. Then, behavioral, incorporated all the LPs, I had practiced most of it. Then, he asked more about my projects and AI questions. I had a lot of time remaining so spent about the last twenty minutes asking tons of questions about the culture, the team and what it takes to succeed at the end. There was another guy overseeing this one who I think was higher up than the manager. I was pretty nervous during both interviews though
Was this for internship?
I just practiced it beforehand the questions they asked were already asking about the LPs so I just had to respond w my example
Ye I’m cooked Ggwp
Yeah internship
Example of question?
They were both designing a class problems. Neither were LC problems I’d seen before or were in tagged. But I would say probably similar to any design problem on LC like Design Twitter or Design Circular Queue
Okok cool, sorry but I meant example of the lp questions
Other than design twitter and lru cache, what LC type design problems would you recommend practicing, I have my interview on Monday
Tell me about a time you took responsibility for a project that wasn’t necessarily assigned to you (Ownership LP)
I would say there’s also design hit counter or design underground system could be good. Those two you mentioned and the ones I mentioned were the only ones I practiced tbh.
But I know a lot of people had completely different problems
Yeah AWS
ive heard aws usually has harder interviews?
How much time does it usually take to hear back
I wouldn’t say harder but they def felt more unique than what i’ve seen before. The first interview had three methods to build out but not that bad if you thought about the whole picture. The second one where I had to ask the clarifying questions to get the full question was interesting too.
And they did ask related questions like the concurrency question
What was the concurrency question
For me it was 3 business days but in the email they sent me after interview they said they’d try to get back within 5 business days
Just curious i don’t have interview for them
You got an email after the interview?
recruiter initials?
It was related to the class I built for the second interview and it was basically what would you do if there were three requests all coming in at the same time to the system but the maximum allowed was two
Oh like more high level not specific concurrency stuff
yeah I got it the business day after
oh nice
CD
I followed up and just got aired lmao
sigh
yeah just like a small question at the end
Interesting
Process seems significantly harder vs last year wow
i even interviewed a day before you and i have not heard back
Sounds good, most aws people are getting design qns so I think it’s a good idea I practice them, tho I’m not fully sure if my team is aws or not
have u seen amazon ppl getting design q’s?
or just aws
I’m not sure, aws ints r def looking much harder than the rest
I think my team is weblabs as both my interviewers are from that, but I’m not sure
2 design qns is def cooked tho im ngl 😭
yeah same
