Goal: have my resume ready for the **2027 **summer new grad recruiting season (i graduate in Dec 2026). Thank you in advance!! I'm targeting backend/API/devops/Infra positions =-]

So far, I pass around 80% of resume screens in Canada, but this number drops quite a bit when applying to the States. My main way of getting OAs for US companies has been through recruiter outreach and the occasional passed resume screen.

For context: my most recent two internships have been at big tech companies and my first two internships were at startups. For each company name, I've added a hyperlink taking you to that company page.

this is a strong resume, the metrics are real and the big tech internships will carry weight, so the US pass rate drop is probably less about the resume itself and more about sponsorship status, do you need H1B or TN visa support, because that alone filters you out at a lot of US companies before a human even reads it, worth being upfront about in applications or recruiter outreach so you're not wasting shots on companies that don't sponsor

a few things worth tightening before 2027 recruiting though - GraphQL is listed under Languages which is a bit off since it's not a programming language, move it to Frameworks and your only personal project is from March 2022 which is going to look dated by the time you're recruiting, you have time to add something more relevant to backend/infra before then, even a small tool or open source contribution

the Mechatronics degree is fine given the coursework you listed but for US infra roles it might be worth adding anything systems or networking adjacent if your program covers it
