honestly none of my emails mentioned any teams but both my interviewers are on the same team so i kinda just assumed i was interviewing for that team

Or the team matching did implictly happen but they reviewed your resume and thought you'd be a better fit for another team so they were like "Yeah this candidate definitely meets the technical bar but let's see if we can get them on this other team", at least that's my understanding of what this is

@rare forge I think in your case ur good but they're probably trying to get you assigned to a different team, and because that team has no idea who you are, they probably added this vague statement of "they might want to interview you as well" meaning to get to know you
On the bright side you passed the interview ig you just need to wait for a team match

hopefully thats the case, during my first interview with the sdm he was like "you seem to have a strong background with ml" and was talking about how they work closely with a sister team that handles the ml stuff

Yeah it might even be the case that they're referring you to that team
I think ur case is rare though so you might not see too many people in the same boat but don't let that discourage you. I'd just keep my hopes up and based on the email everything semes good, just prepare yourself mentally potentially for another round of interview in case that other team wants to interview you
