1.5 month, started early feb, had a wait time of 2 weeks after clearing OA and setting up recruiter call
When was your final?
tc?
how much time did it take for you to move from recruiter to build challenge?
@chrome hornet whenโs ur start date
Last week on Thursday
levels.fyi is accurate af
4 days iirc
15th June
@chrome hornet can I DM?
Best ask here, others might also get answers
@chrome hornet how long did it take you to hear back after final?
Can you please tell me more about the build challenge? I just submitted it. How long after submitting did you receive a response?
What do you think stood out for you in the build challenge?
6 days
So I had a rejection after build challenge but IDK what happened and they sent me a message saying they took another look and received invite for next round
You never know, I guess clean code structure, good unit testing
What is the final interview about? I heard 1:1 tech screen just goes over the build challenge
Yes tech screen is explaining the build, final is a project presentation
What type of project did you use for your final round?
Also were you able to pick your location or was it picked for you?
I had an option to pick, i used my previous work's project
interesting, iโve worked on projects for my internship in the past but donโt have access to it anymore. Does just explaining suffice?
how long did it to take from oa to get recruiter screen
i think i didnt score good enough
ive seen people wait a week and then get through it but if its not instant not looking too hot
@chrome hornet can you talk a bit more about your tech screen
yeah fair
i got cooked by the leetcode one
You have to make a PPT no code required, basically STAR method on a project
It was pretty instant, but honestly I wouldn't recommend basing any decisions from it, I was in the same boat trying to figure out how long I took to complete and the feedback time and reddit used to say if it stays in review for 3 days its a rej but i got through
icic
Gotcha thank you!
Sure, i would recommend practicing what you will talk about and try to wrap in 20 mins. Rest of the questions will come from the guy interviewing you, and it depends on each person what they wanna ask based on your implementation
How long after the build challenge rejection did they reach back out to you for the tech screen?
1 week approximately
Could you talk a bit about the nature of the questions?
So from what I know the build challenge has changed slightly, earlier you could clone repo and then submit but now its on their online portal only. So the questions might change but anyway
How i used ai
Do i plan before execution with ai or just plan myself and execute directly using ai
How did i think of unit testing, like just ai writing those test
Some design decisions of abstracting a class instead of 2 classes
If scenario a then how would you do stuff like that, the questions also build on what you answer so its very dynamic
Did it already start with this rapid fire or was this a follow up after you talked about your project for 20 min?
@thorn tangle has a friend!
@chrome hornet im on the final presentation is the questioning etc very chill with the intuit engineers or do they go rlly technical? Like by this point in the process is ur offer basically guarenteed like 80-90% j dont be an idiot on the final?
Yes its basically an offer, but dont take it lightly, show the project, the questions aren't technical at all, more like a person curious on your project
ahhh ok
my presentation is either tues or wed they will confirm on monday
They dont go rlly technical, as you know more about your project than someone who has just seen a ppt for 7 mins
how many engineers watched urs?
So they will try to ask for clarification if you don't explain something too well
ah ok
It was only 2, you get the names and their roles beforehand
One was Engineering manager and other was senior software developer
sounds good
congratulations!! @chrome hornet were you alloewed to pick offer location?
for the final intv, how long did you present for? and did they ask a lot of follow up questions or was it more just clarifications as you presented
10 mins total presentation, tons of questions like how I would do something
@chrome hornet how long did it take for you to move on to the build challenge after the initial recruiter screen?
4 days
Ok nice
@chrome hornet how long did it take for you to move on from technical screen to the final? Also was your technical screen ever under review
Mine was instant because it was on Saturday, but it really depends on your interviewer and when they submit the eval
Sounds good, thanks!
how technical did they expect the presentation to be? also were the questions very technical or more broad like tradeoffs & edge cases considered, how you'd do things differently, how u used ai, etc?
It wasnt too technical, just trying to gather a high level overview of the project and a bit of trade off and did I consider if certain features caused more friction for consumers
@ember garden how much time do you get for the build challenge since the day you receive it?
No deadline. You can do it whenever. I got mine like three days ago and I'm just starting it.
They do recommend you do it ASAP though
Can I DM you?
If you can ask here that would be great
@chrome hornet congratulations ๐ฅณ . would the final round have a resume grilling or behavioral section?
Final round is more project grilling
do we have to demo the project?
