Tesla (SWE Intern, RO) Pros:

  • Better location
  • More ownership and high growth team so more learning
  • Hours arent bad, 40-45 hrs/week
  • Like my coworkers and the Elon culture
  • Team is working on applied AI to automate/help people do their job better (I'll be mainly tinkering and building out the agents that we'll be using)
    Tesla Cons:
  • Team is non prestigious (which I shouldn't care about but slightly do)
  • Repeat company although work will be different (Prev work was data platform, this is the same team but working on AI agents)
  • Have to renege

Apple (SWE Intern) Pros:

  • Better prestige
  • Different company so i have 2 tuff companies instead of one
  • Probably more pay? not sure
  • Team is AI and Data Platforms
    Apple Cons:
  • Very slow/corporate environment (personally i hate this, but haven't officially tried it yet ig)
  • Work will be an intern project type thing while im more of a dedicated engineer at Tesla
  • Worse location (not a big factor tho)

Google (TM)

  • Got an offer for google voice but rejected it, waiting for a better team with better work

Prios for internship
Learning/growth > Prestige > Location > Pay

and it’s without a doubt the most prestigious and best paying part of tesla

and arguably the most important as well
