#c1 intern vs full time at startup

take the risk
mr take that risk
Take da risk. If the team is actually that good, i think the EV is higher than C1 internship
the most important thing is to leave a good impression
the risk isn't really if it's going to work out or not (and then you'd have to head back into ng recruiting. I've also heard that if you drop out, you can come back within a certain number of years).
the main risk here is if you can perform or not
if you don't think you can perform and blow it out of the water to the point where those elite people you are working with will want you
then it's prob not worth taking. Prob better to take c1 in that case
from c1, with a T5, you'll land procs at better companies in 2 years
would take the risk
u learn more
the only reason i'm considering c1 is cause i've never worked at big tech before
this shouldn't stop you from showing your skill set
the current environment prioritize skill more
take the startup
full time > intern
if you can get c1 w current resume you can always get it again down the line with more startup exp
why intern then?
Yeah how did you even get passed the questionnaire as a senior
Did u try to push like fr fr? they dont allow even august start dat?
startups usually don’t push because they don’t even know how things will be like even a few months later
and they need people to grind right away
Can I dm? @dusty jetty
2 years runway tho?
they should def be open to delaying by 3 months lol
well c1 intern + startup ft is prolly ur best bet if u can pul it off
I guess it depends on company another one that’s not yc didn’t let me interview yet bc they didn’t know if they could wait till June
In that case take the startup
The only case u take C1 is if ur genuinely a shit interviewer or are very risk averse
what kind of work would you do at the startup?
Do it.
Working at a startup like that will change your perspective on everything in an incredible way
That experience is worth everything as someone just entering their 20s
Especially FT
if the startup is cracked, it's worth
C1
Rare bad unbiased take 💔
Only 120-150k in sf
Still livable imo
I am just assuming because some is equity
He can recruit for better tech
Also it’s an internship so u have 1 year opportunity cost
If this startup was good they wouldnt pay 150k
It’s seed tho
Startup experience gaps for sure
If he’s risk averse then sure but I’d be more ambitious
@dusty jetty what school are you
This is close
no i think 120-150 base, prob like 80-100k stock
If this then startup gaps LOL
I thought 120-150k TC
nah only reason they would say a 120-150k is if u have the option for more/less base given more/less stock
so that number has to be base
idk what the stock number is tho
120-150k base is good enough for startup
ya i agree
obv if the startup is dying/has a shit product dont go there
but if the team is good and the problem seems reasonable, i think very worth
wait
so TC is just 120k-150k
so is the equity an add on
from what i'm reading, you're saying the equity isn't an add on
from what i'm reading, you're saying the equity isn't an add on
rather, it's something that, along with base salary, equals 150k TC
i see
burp
let me add you
so they're valued at 75m as a series A?
that's pretty low
how much cash do they actually have
even if you get a year in at the startup, imo it's better than c1
u cant check on crunchbase or smtn
if they’re just seed then ya, id be worried about them just dying. However if they raised seed a while back, then maybe they in the talks for raising their series A
you can just ask the founders or interviewer that
