#2027 grad looking for interns

number of nodes in a graph is an ass metric
so is number of dimensions to a vector
try to quantify something meaningful or end-to-end about the impact of your work
where was it published, etc.
Noted
It was an early stage startup so I don't really have any metrics
yup
added more context on projects
bump
What is NLI
Sounds non-standard
Fourth project start of first bullet sounds crazy
Too many words in the noun phrase / subject
yeah i think u have enough to apply for amazon/google/ibm
dont discount research exp as long as u are able to weave it into the kind of stuff they look for
Im not larping about research exp since it's what I honestly did
hmm ig i understand a bit of your RL project now that i think hard enough but i think u should somehow rewrite it so it sounds impressive without the person having to know a lot of RL/think about it super hard
yeah
doesnt matter if u larp too lol
but anyways.. like in one of my research projects for RL i had to deploy multi node training on TPU pods
so distributed computing and whatnot
Teach me your technique to larp master
Briefly skimmed, okay I am going to act like a non technical recruiter
- projects don’t show any impact, and also “I’m bored” like Idk what this is. Just tech words, no product
- projects are very diverse. U have ML and then u have a firewall project and then full stack. U show u have no niche
- use xyz for bullet points for work exp
since then i just did an educational project deploying RL on multi host GPU pods
so i just wrote both in my RL project space
projects seemed fine-ish to me.. they have stuff like caching, SQL whatnot
Yea
It means I got bored reading
i mean this makes sense even if a bit larp-ish
also u may wanna bold parts of ur bullet points? idk i do that
also WatcherX tells me kinda nothing about what u did.. idk if u should add a more descriptive heading or at least maybe bolden parts of the first bullet? idk
Good point
So I'll try to add a point about what the project is about
for the 4th project did u define the MCP for it?
I made a filesystem restriction MCP kinda thingy
i think ur resume is better than mine tbh 🤣
So claude doesn't go off road
but yeah take into consideration what others say too.. idrk what the best resume is
everyone has their own thoughts, some contradictory with others
Yeah
then write MCP.. if u can
wtf does enabling support for 5+ languages mean?
Internationalisation
i18n
but hey u got in for bachelors should be fine
bruh
Which just makes the whole website in diff language
i thought u meant programming languages 🤣
I migrated whole react website into next.js
write localisation or internationalisation
I wrote support for 5+ languages since
u couldnt have done localisation in react? 🤣
I thought non tech guy won't know wtf I'm talking about lol
but a tech guy will also not know wtf u are talking about lol
That's why I didn't write that part out
when u say languages to me, i instantly think of programming languages
I just did what I was asked for
and ur first few bullet points really need to be polished
everything else is fine
Okay
a tech person reads it and is like.. "wtf? how did the person add 5 programming langages by migrating to next.js?"
maybe u can find a word that works for both tech/non tech people
translations maybe.. idk
Wish u the best

and if they think that.. then they may automatically thing the rest of ur resume is also BS
but maybe i am dumb idk
Are you part of the going home club
No extracurricular is interesting
Honestly looks good tho
Although you could pad the programming language part
I have one ACM but its bs
It’s good I think you should apply
bro dont say u implemented early stopping to reduce training time btw 🤣
sorry but it sounds dumb
but its a very impressive project for sure (for the age at least)
i generated synthetic data by rotating/translating wheat/rice grains on a background and used R-Trees to check for collisions quickly
u should learn yolo or FSDP or agents/LLMs
lot of people in USA hiring for those, easier to find a remote job
update:
is weighted linear scoring basically just MLR? 🤣
micro optimisation, tho resnet also looks good, may help to write CNN cuz jobs are more likely to include keyword "Convolutional Neural Networks" or CNN or CNNs
tho Resnet has its own benefit that a more knowledgable person will think that u arent faking.. tho idk how much that adds since resnet is like a 10 year old model
and u still have "early stopping to reduce training time" which just sounds dumb (no offense)
¯_(ツ)_/¯
If I still don't get interviews I'm gonna lose my mind
bro i applied to 2300 or something
just apply to every new grad faang role
Im 2027 grad...
seems fine i guess
i would write reinforcement learning (RL) there
no one knows wtf contextual bandits are unless they are very involved and i think u have space? 🤔
Got it
and they will definitely have reinforcement learning in various job descriptions (the more general term)
so even if theres no bot ATS, if a recruiter checks, they will think "ok good this guy knows reinforcement learning" rather than being confused by "RL"
Reasonable
overall fairly decent/good
Btw do you think my swe (contract) is written good?
It's ongoing so Idk how to phrase it correctly now
yeah seems fine
I put it up since I'm actively applying for internship
maybe some metrics if u can add them but otherwise i get the general idea of what u did
tho tbf i dont really understand most of it 💀
ABI-aligned is application binary interface?
ah ya maybe thats why idk
i also dont know what Base is
Yes
Base is Ethereum layer
Low cost and Secure layer
I rubbed my head too when I heard of that shit
Lol
idk what that means
So the documentation already had ABIs so I used their existing params and info for ABIs in my code
it seems fine overall but yeah a person in blockchain who is not too familiar should understand.. and if its for general SWE role, non-blockchain people maybe should be able to understand (like general SWEs)
i mean it sounds cool i dont quite know what that means
Yeah point
ig i havent done enough low level coding
Maybe I should phrase it for general swe ig
i made similar issues (i think still am, so improving resume is a continual process)
somewhere here recommended me to essentially dumb down the language a bit
like it still has MLE stuff.. but dumbed down to generics
Hmm
Btw does having two roles at the same time bad? In perspective of resume screening
like instead of transformers and CNNs, it might say Vision AI or something
Isn't that too dumb?
idrk i wouldnt think its bad but i am probably not the best judge on that
ig but like it gets the point across
CNNs and transformers is hopefully implicit..
ehh maybe it doesnt have to be that dumb..
i dont quite know.. its a bit subjective and a balance of dumb and also sprinkling in some stuff that shows u are an expert (or at least had depth) at times..

i mean as i said its pretty good rn
but yeah resumes can be endlessly improved, tailored, etc
I kinda wanna see your resume too now lol
Must be better than me at least?
i am giving u the feedback i have heard from others but am unable to follow myself 💀
nah
i think urs probably better
but tbh i doubt it matters too much
Did you get any feedback?
they wont spend too long reading it anyways 💀
Yeah 20s max
yeah but i often find it hard to implement that feedback..
mainly that my stuff is too dense, but then i feel like i wanna describe this project cuz it was cool but no space or i need to include more skills cuz of ATS but then some people say u dont.. idrk 🤷♀️
at times it also gets contradictory (different people giving contradictory advice)
but for the most part consistent feedback has been its too dense
Some guy at some server said Im doing 6-12 months of work in 1-2 months
i kinda feel too lazy to share mine
For my contract
cuz i would need to redact stuff..
You do you
Also said it's exaggerated and fake
I was like bruh
people also dox u here from redacted resumes..
cuz paper names and stuff or phrasing is highly searchable
and this discord seems to not have any rules
basically find ur name, address, linkedin, photos, etc and post them in general
I see
this is the resume i last submitted to google.. added a bit more DSA stuff but idk i feel that looks dumb lol
and probably still too dense and technical
i like the template
Jake ryan default one has less space
ok ill check it out
i think i did use that
but modified it a bit
i think if i had smaller skills section it could help but idk thats usually a dump i use for ATS..
I think you should go
Edu > exp > research > proj > skills
and lets be honest, even if ATS is not a thing.. most recruiters are no smarter than an ATS
yeah everyone has different thoughts 🤷♀️
i think its fine either way
i have been told to keep it on top, keep it on bottom, by many people
also one person said 2 page is fine (which seems to be the case cuz my first resume to google was 1.25 pages)
tho he recommended make it fully 2 pages.. dont leave out any experiences.. have ample of spacing and it should look nice and polished
Don't you have too many points on exp?
yeah probably
How about having best 5?
yeah maybe.. not too sure which are the best 5 tho
most would say last point is too long and sucks
but it kinda acts as a catch all for collaboration code reviews, agile whatnot
now if its a technical recruiter seeing my resume, it wont matter if i remove it, its implicit, but if its some dumb HR or ATS.. 🤷♀️
I think a normal human would get scared from text walls
Like someone just messaged you a wall of text; you wouldn't like to read it right?
It's like that
fair
but hey.. all the mroe reason for u to keep applying
i got an interview from that garbage resume
passed OA, first round (virtual screen), second round interview 1 bombed, second round interview 2 was a great success
so most likely reject/R3
Which company?
Ty ty Gib job then
updated:
I hope you get your job vro
thanks
