yes but not optimally
shi the bar's so high now
damn, how long after r2 did you get rejected?
Damn how difficult were the questions?
rip man
10 day
aw man sorry bro
man
KS? And did she give feedback
nope
Sorry man
got rejected too
rip
pookie sorry

We are doomed to Bloomberg
literallt waiting after bloomberg em but i have a bad feeling ab tht
might be nearing hc idk
for bb?
its alr
google nyc wouldve been negative chance
and bay area isnt an option for me
Oh nice
when did u interview n wht round
Thursday r1
oh damn
How did your followups went?
R1 or round 2 for google? I’m confused
hes talking abt bbg
Oh
That happened to me back in October. Bloomberg is a hit or a miss ngl. Soo random
i got rejected after r2 google
waiting on bb
how did u think it went
When did you do r2? And you were confident in your solutions?
Yeah kind of wondering because I got two followups and wrote one
i definitely think i did well
was able to answer follow up for 1 of them 2nd int didn’t have follow up
Maybe just bad luck with bad interviewer … feeling sorry for you
i guess
they have to be finishing up soon
feel like theres still a crap ton of ppl waiting for TM
do yk wha
nyc headcount is like
my friend interend in ny
said something like only 19 hc
i dont know how true it is
she just said new york only has 19 headcount, but i dont know if was for the whole location or just her PA
she was intern
19 for whole location is wild
My rec said nyc and Bay Area have the most headcount
Followed by Seattle
well yea they r the two biggest ofices
but for some reason nyc is just hard to get
But idk if she’s just lying
yea
I think there’s a comparable amount of HC to the west coast
i just think ny headcount is low because veryone tries to internal transfer there
It’s just way more people want NYC
so your competing against people in google as well
my interviewer said its very hard
Stupid question but can L3 even transfer?
i think after 1 year
I thought it was L4+ so I didn’t think transfers would affect L3 headcount in NYC but that could just be wrong
Oh damn ok
u can def transfer as l3
my interviewer transfered after like a year
she was in bay area first
Yea I might try and do the same tbh
for me new york is non negotibale
I put NYC as my top location but Idt imma get it I’m not cracked
Oh yea then fair enough
dang that's cooked
i solved all my qs but had one round where my interviewer wanted to insist on another way to solve - did get to solving followups for most of my rounds but this lit might not be enough considering wtf the bar is at right now
only got asked for transcripts etc so far and it's been like a week since my r2
💀
this is cap 💀 nyc is like their second biggest office
that's prolly just her sub-pa
yea i think it was just for her PA
why is it so hard to get ny then
if it’s the second biggest office
everybody and their mom wants it
10x applicants prob
West coast has like 6 different major offices to split headcount east coast only really has one
also im pretty sure the amount of hc google has in all locs outside the bay combined is significantly less than the hc in the bay
i feel like
u cant really say
"nyc is the second biggest office"
sure its second biggest but
its not that big
its only second biggest cuz 80% of the jobs r in the bay
its literally two buildings
yea that is misleading mb
but they consider all of the bay to be one loc
idk why
that's why nyc is their second biggest loc technically
after 1 year yes but prolly not a good thing to bank on
im sure half the ppl in the bay offices are trying to do the same thing
man i gotta wait 1-2 weeks more for prob reject
💀
this be so cooked
idk why their standards this year are so high
i swear even with 4 LH u should be able to get hired in the prev years, or at least their standards were probably way easier back then
i had a fob interviewer too and it was hard to make up what he said
pretty sure it was always 3 coding 1 behaviorial
except its split up this time, normally u would do all 4 in one day
4 lean hires passing is crazy
Don’t think it was ever like that lol
ok maybe not 4 lmao
IMO 2H 2LH should be enough in the past
but now its like u need 1-2 SH or something lmao
cuz i keep hearing people passing followups and geting rng
either self assessment is bad or just very bad interviewer rng
or hc rng yes
I don’t even know how much follow ups matter I didn’t get asked a single one in all 3 technical rounds
do they consider stuff like your school / past exp performance
I think they do
i got asked for all my rounds idk
I got asked for 2 rounds 1 hard and for one round 1 backtracking medium + 1 bitwise dp hard
So there prob wasn’t like any time tbf
But I think I got a LH on the medium + unrelated hard round so I think u can still pass with a LH
Just need a SH to balance maybe idk
bitwise dp hard
damn u cracked
i solved all my problems including followups except for one round
Nah I did brute force and like attempted the dp part but Idt I solved it correctly
so im thinking at worst I have LH LH H H, at best I have H H SH SH
That’s why I think LH
She only gave me 25 min to do it tbf after the first problem so idk what she wanted
but again i might be bad at self assessment so
oh but solving base problem means at least LH so
Ye I solved the medium optimally no issues
🐐
I think hints are also a big thing
A lot of people I personally know who got rejected got hints
i think even with hints as long as u can solve its still LH from what i hear
really?
damn
what if they push hints on u etc
Yea I didn’t get any hints for any round
damn
But sample size n = 5 (me and like 4 friends I know)
like i had a round where my approach worked but my interviewer kept pushing me to do it a different way when the complexity doesn't really change (lit still O(N))
idk maybe that will cook me
i still figured it out and did the followup but ya
but idk maybe bad self assessment again
That’s prob fine? Idk I kinda just always kept talking no matter what so they wouldn’t throw a hint at me even if it was bs
Yea interviewer that gave me bitwise dp was a fob
damn if it was like that no hint would've def been better
how long did u wait till u knew about passing hc
Yea idk I’m just going off what I’ve heard Google engineers describe the rubric they use
Like there’s a specific section for independence
Technically 2 weeks but if u don’t count holidays 5 business days
my friend did like a near perf interview for his rounds, only needed to correct one thing and still got rej with no additional tiebreak interviews
maybe the issue with him was needing visa? idk
felt cooked af
That’s crazy yea idk about that
damn lol
i think its been 5 business days for me so far
like recruiter only asked for my transcript etc today
Most people it’s like 2 weeks
is longer time more likely for rej?
I think I just got lucky with holidays
ah
Nah no correlation
I know people who got rejected in 2 days and in 1 month
Same with passing
Yea it’s kinda rng
legit
Generally if u do really well, u hear back quicker
thanks for all the info bro, lit fingers crossed for me
But that’s basically it
Nah passed HC Jan 7th start date June
ahhh
I’m still just waiting lol
so u start tm in march then
U got it trust
Yea or get PA sooner
Want to just stop applying lol
Yea I can go back to the mid F500 but I don’t wanna
And somehow goog is the only proc I got
prolly both
quite sure hc does not
ofc in tm that stuff will matter a lot more
ah hm
Yea I think I may have misunderstood what u were asking my b
Your school/past experience matters but only for PA/TM
HC is purely your interviews and nothing else I believe
ah
huh ..
doesn't feel like hc goes through your resume tho
i swear the meme that google cares about gpa too has got to die lol
they definitely do
