ibm:

  • austin - 175k tc (ote)
  • ai engineering title is great (i think)
  • a SALES role combined with development/deployment of ai systems (wtv that means)
  • requires travel

c1:

  • mclean - 169 tc
  • everyone knows what tdp is so wont explain too much

my general ask is what do you guys think about taking the ibm role over the c1. I want to eventually be in drug discovery/healthcare ai, and I think IBM places me closer to those fields (with clients like Moderna and Pfizer). However, it's also less engineering focused and ik TDP is a good pipeline for starting SWE.

(my general thoughts are that I can just build personal projects like always to keep up with my coding, but if anyone has insights into these roles/companies feel free to respond with some advice:) )

ibm is prob better for AI/ML but you should ask them what the Sales part involves, you might get baited to being a sales engineer who focuses on AI

#

otherwise c1 tdp is prob better for general swe

#

but also ibm has watson health whereas c1 is purely fintech? not sure if you have further knowledge of team matching or whatnot yet
