Focused entirely on resume value for big tech SWE / ML / quant dev. Last summer was at Intel mostly writing Python for GPU HW/SW integration. Have 2 summers after this assuming I do my Master's (90% likely).

AMD:

  • CPU Performance Specialist Intern, will work on CPU bottlenecks with C++ and also some data wrangling with Python.
  • Very low level computer architecture and OS level stuff.
  • Austin, went once for a day it was pretty nice.
  • 42/hr + 5k stipend
  • Pretty high tier company, better than Intel I've heard.

Onepay:

  • Series A startup, Walmart-backed, trying to be the finance everything app.
  • Very new intern program (2nd cohort) and would be doing a bunch of things, mostly within the Typescript and data engineering realm though.
  • NYC not too big a factor for me, I grew up there, but would be free staying with parents.
  • 29/hr, no stipend
  • Not many have heard of it yet but it would be cool to get some fintech experience.

Keep Recruiting:
Have interviews for NVIDIA as a System Analyst Intern (unsure what that is??), Swe @ Cisco and backend @ Codal. idk much more than those basic details though. Wondering if still worth doing them.

AMD only gave me 2 days to decide so I might have to renege on them if I get Nvidia

#

also idk how to make poll

How does AMD stack up against Intel? I was at Intel last summer and am wondering if they’re of similar prestige or if AMD is an upgrade or if I should try to go for another org in Intel

around the same, maybe a tad better
