Capital One TDP (Richmond VA)

123k Base + 25k SO + 3-7k Bonus

FYTC: 151k
Rec TC: 126k

Pros: Pure SWE, WLB, LCOL

Cons: potentially boring work

Applied Intuition Defense FDE (Arlington VA)

111k Base + 148k equity (quarterly vested over 4 years with 1 year cliff) + 12750 SO

FYTC: 166k
Rec TC: 143k

Can increase/decrease base by trading for equity, get $5 vested for every $1 base traded.

Pros: everyone is cracked, location, more interesting work, ownership

Cons: WLB, liquidizing equity, less technical work?

Looking to optimize for exits into big tech

Applied FDE vs SWE pay is a crazy difference wow. For Big Tech exits can’t go wrong with C1, but a lot of big tech/AI labs are opening FDE roles so getting in the field early could be nice. End of the day I think applied intuition has the cooler work I would personally pick them

i think fde is interesting if ur looking to get into more management roles/learn a lot, but if u want to be purely technical take c1

#

but applied res val is def better so u could hope that fde doesn't cook u for big tech swe roles
