#New Grad / 6 month NG EXP, 1 big scale project, 4 internships -> No callbacks from big tech

also maybe less metrics/technical heavy words so a recruiter can understand your resume
Hmm wouldn't technical recruiters expect to have some kind of grasp over these technical terms
not really tbh they just look for languages/frameworks and impact
they won’t know what a N+1 query means for example
Interesting. That's a good take tbh I'm gonna remove some of the technical jargon and replace with business impact and WHY
Thanks bro
Np bro
ye agree w/ woo
yeah also highlight more tech skills and less other stuff, will help them connect the dots easier
Wdym by tech skills? Like just list the technology stack?
Like I wouldn’t highlight “scheduling algorithm” or “3x traffic growth” but instead I’d leave the “Python” or “AWS Lambda” highlighted
Ahhh I see yeah okay I agree with that. I think i was too focused on having Engineering Managers review my resume
Would you guysn agree now that I've graduated it's better to put the Education on the bottom of the resume?
and obv drag Work Experience to the top highlighting my most recent role
you just started a full time SWE position in September this year and you already want to leave??
that’s a huge red flag to most recruiters and they will immediately reject you even if you fixed up your resume a little bit rn
id stay at your current company for at least a year or two before trying to get another job
and absolutely no bullet point should be 3 lines long… nobody will read that trust me
and if you have a Projects section, then I’d put at least two projects in there.
you can remove an internship or two that’s at the bottom of your experience section since you already have so many internships listed
also you have like two lines in your skills section right now that are overflowing to another line by only a word or two. fix that. make each actually one line
yeah sorta agree with this except idt faang cares
esp given Amazon just laid off a bunch of new grads after 3 months 💀
would be a red flag for more traditional or smaller companies for sure tho
I understand its a red flag for most smaller companies but that's why I said I'm applying for FAANG+ because usually they don't care since they poach at any time lets be real, but realistically I was gonna wait till the 6month+ mark to start applying aggressively
new grad market is so cooked anyways that im better off getting 1-2 YOE anyways
Great catch i'll adjust that as well
Also is it bad to include AAR or monthly revenue from a project ? Like is it considered cocky or arrogant to showcase that on a resume or is it considered impressive to recruiters?
Yes yes yes there is no such thing as too cocky on a resume
LOL 😭 😭 😭 😭
is this part of that 14k cut? where did you hear it included a bunch of new grads?
Sorry not “a bunch” but there were new grads included in that reduction
