well gg lmao how much would u say school name matters
i go to a pretty decent school but it aint no ivy
i go to a shit public uni
it just matters aout outreach
and cold emailing
and networking tbh
and having your reusme be easy on the eyes + ATS formatted
how do u usually go about doin so
like jakes resume with google xyz format
the networking?
find a role i like
send in resume
find recruiter / engineers on linkedin
find their email on apollo.io
and email them
use mailsuite to track if theyr ead it or not
and then just wait
in your email show ur relevant experience
oh shi nice what do u usually say since ur app already goes in. can they like bump it for u?
short and sweet
yea if its recruiter they can give you the proc instantly
damn i gotta hop on the strat
do yall know how some positions have like 1-3 year of experience r those like super restricted
im a new grad wondering if i should still apply for those
it depends
if u have super relevant exp
apply
i had na int at a robotics company for a 2 YOE role
i failed it but got int
bet thanks for that ill keep these notes in mind
I also got into a mid level role by having relevant experience
But I don’t have too many processes.
It’s just that one which ended last week and currently Google.
Have you tried targeting companies or networks?
That’s how I got my processes since I was getting rejected left and right otherwise
nope i have not tried targetting companies im not that familiar with the job search any tips/tricks would be of great help
How many years do you have left for school?
I’m not the most successful, but I’ve been recruiting for a few years and have the experience.
I might have some tricks.
Do you have a niche or interest? Are you targeting startups or big tech?
Got it. Make sure to go to their events
And try to remove class projects as much as possible
i don’t have any class projects on my resume rn so i think im clear there but how do i find out abt upcoming events
Does your school have any channels for career fairs?
Also, what are your interests?
yeah we do im jus not that in touch with it
like cs wise or outside of cs
Cs wise
Because one strategy might be to optimize for a specific area and connect with companies in that area that way.
Kinda what I did.
What happened to me is that I had basically 0 internships when graduating, but now have a mid-level offer at big tech and potentially another offer at Google.
Although, I got lucky for a lot of it, too.
im interested mainly full stack a little bit ml/ai but applied not like ml engineering
in particular web-based apps although i wouldnt mind exploring mobile since its always interested me
most of my experience suggests full stack too, im pretty well rounded
I’m not a huge fan of full stack because it’s harder to stand out. It’s great to know, though.
Since they’re still important skills
And very applicable
Ml/ai seems to be in a lot of demand, though
yeah haha its pretty broad but its where my passions mainly lie
i like building end-end owning the entire process
If it’s your passion, you should stick with it.
also apply for FDE then
FDSE roles
I have AI girlfriend project on my resume
Is she cute?
