i didn't mention this pre offer tho so i don't think it matters
nope
Also what are your rec initials?
CL
You considering this over meta?
nope but im working in their toronto office for 3 months until meta starts 😂
yeah
Were all 3 rounds perfect for you?
i think so
I have mine coming up soon, can I dm you?
i full solved all but for the ICR i could've had better readability etc.
Ah ok makes sense
just ask here
so other ppl can use the info
That’s fair
I was wondering about the LC round if it was like medium or on the harder side
leetcode medium sliding window
i thought it was a dp hard at first but it was simpler
What do you think the best way to prep for ICR would be?
I’m the most worried about that lol
just read the instructions carefully and make sure you have general oop concepts down, talk a lot i think to explain all ur decisions and why u went with one thing instead of the other
I think i had a similar lc question. Did they ask a follow up and ask you to code the follow up?
Oh ok you coded all 3?
yeah
Did you think the practice they gave was pretty reflective of the ICR or was it easier?
i'd say easier tbh
I see, so just know api design very well and general OOP principles and it should be chill?
there wasn't any actual actual api design or anything
like u didnt' have to call anything it was more of like we know that this thing will be called with these data types in the boiler plate they gave u
similar to the example
so it's more oop imo
there were like time complexity optimizations u could make but my interviewer didn't care too much abt them he said to just get the question done first since it's a lot of coding
and i just talked abt how i'd optimize afterwards
ur interviewer might be diff tho
Got it makes sense
Do you think doing the OOP leetcode is a good way to prep or would you say something else would be better?
yea
honestly it's not conceptually hard just make sure ur thorough and consider all edge cases etc. the way u would in an actual codebase
What's TC for toronto?
115k cad base 50k usd rsu (front loaded) 17k cad signing
they dont nego
seattle tc was 145k base 80k rsu 20k signing
Over 4 years? 50k rsu seems low, thought they offered more TC from levels
yea over 4 years
canada isj ust rlly low lol they said its standardized for all ngs
levels prob has more experienced hires at e3 and maybe they cut tc
im not 100% sure abt this tho but i did try negotiating with meta competing and they didn't budge and said it's non-negotiable
yeah that's much lower than amzon
Oh that's crazy 💀
Canada got lowballed so much
Tyty
even their us tc is low ball compared to faang tbh
Yeah thought they paid more than amzn / msft seems like not this year lmao
i asked to switch to US initially but switched back to toronto which is how ik the seattle tc too
anyways anyone know strats for hard coasting bc im resigning after 3 months 🤣
my visa takes a long ass time to process for the us and im bored asf at home
might asw make money
bro thats 10x harder than being a swe and ur making 1/10 the amount
i mean i'd rather have money to go on vacations after 6 months w/o work/school i kinda did everything i alr wanted to do with hobbies
Was it easy to ask for us position as Canadian and is location based on team matching?
yea they acc have no hc left in toronto
but a lot more in us offices from what i heard
nyc was filled tho
Did the rec say they have a lot of hc in US?
Kinda nervous about hc filling up soon
seattle had multiple teams still looking
not sure abt bay area but it had hc when i asked a week ago
either jan or dec
is this tn visa? i thought canadians have tn status if they go work in the us so they're visa exempt
i gotta wait for my uni to process my degree which takes like a month
and then it takes 2-3 months to get approved w preapproval
oh i see
but yea technically it's not a visa
can you get tn status from port of entry like show up with your docs at the airport and get approved same day?
yeah that's a lot faster
my immigration agency recommended doing preapproval bc i have a math degree not cs/eng which makes it harder to get approved
and preapproval has less risk
u do need ur physical diploma in-hand at this point still though
and some unis take a while to get u it
makes sense ty
So for June 2026 grads, most ppl wont get their physical degree until around mid july?
depends on ur university, some let u get it earlier if u request it otherwise i'm guessing it during convocation
waterloo lets u request it early but even requesting early for me is like 1.5 months after im done all exams/classes
I Can connect you with someone from Loo for this. He did something similar lol
would be super helpful tyty 🙏
Hmm so in ur case around mid february/march?
degree i'd get by late jan
K i will ask him to send u friend request. I dont wanna tag bro here
but after processing down time my actual start date is like late march
Disclaimer: bro was not coasting but he did jump ship after 3 months at a diff company. But he might have some valuable insights still
Ahhhh
gotcha
it was just general questions
like telling a story
i didn't really use star just kidna rambled
em seemed happy after like the 3rd question tho tbh
I couldn’t really tell with mine he’d just kinda smile and nod sometimes ask follow up then jump to next q
He was def reading from screen
lol yea mine was litearlyl like
hm which question next
i think she was just fulfilling the amount she needed to ask after a bit bc they usually know kinda early
the last question i just blanked and she was like whatever dont worry abt it 😭
i tihnk this is a good sign
