#Microsoft final round

So microsoft final round is pretty straight forward
theres a behavoiral protion
where you awnser questions that are very case spesific so like theyll have a copy of your resume they may not tell you they do
but I was able to figure out they did because they mentioned somehting on it that I didnt say yet
theyll spend like 20-25 minutes talking about your behavioral and MAKE SURE you do well
hammer in their principles
so look at that specially
so i talked about accesbilty heavily and then mentioned growth alot and admitted my failures pretty readily but made sure to elaborate on how i reflcted upon that and made a change in my behaviors and how that positive chnaged has made in impact now
then theres a tech for the last portion
lowk doesnt matter as much cuz i fucked up my first one barely explained propely and only last second cluthed the tech
they ask pretty stright forward questions
you may or may not even have test cases
so 20-25 min behvaioral MOST IMPORTANT
then rest is basic tech capabilty
they do ask
from the leetcode 30 days
and they asked a easy and a meduim
form that list or like a variation of it
I see, so for the technical part of the interview, should I just grind the recent 30 days tagged ones
100%
both question i was asked were on it
but you just have to do a decent job on it so dont stress
im really telling you that behavioral is super impoarnt
cuz i messed up the tech
Did you demonstrate alignment with their core principles by using specific examples?
yep
is it also good to directly mention those principles?
yeah i think but dont refrence it word for word or smth
bet, thank you!!
🤞
and just curious, did you have any international student in your cohort? cuz i am
i do not know sadly
i think as long as you demonstrate your capabilties
youll be fine
sounds great, how long did it take to hear back after final interview?
so i did my interview on Monday
i heard back like deadass like 1 hour ago
well not really heard back but my action center moved to complete
which is usally an offer
and a couple minutes before that someone called me and told me not to accpet competing offer
so they work fast
ohh I see idk why I thought you interned last year lol
i not like those people wholl gatekeep cuz they want to fuck ovber people in thier same inteviews pool
if anyone else has questions ask away
What team did u interview for?
Cambridge fullstack swe
i can also contribute a bit to this discussion, the questions can vary heavily between interviewer but make sure you knock down the principles microsoft has
What team did you interview for?
security business group
I’m new to the server how do u get the last 30 days questions?
LeetCode premium company tagged
could u give examples of the sorts of resume questions you were asked?
@slender frigate how many days did it take to hear back after doing the OA?
less than 4 days
@oblique egret did they have you write your own test cases?
Sorry it was Halloweenweekend didn’t really check discord
They asked abt like the specific things I did or contributed too and my thought process behind it
First one no (not senior engineer) second one yes (senior)
Senior wanted me to figure out all the test cases and add them myself
^ same for me, one had me write test cases
took me ~14 days post oa to get int invite, can be up to 30 days
do you guys think its worth telling my msft recruiter to move me onto the interview process if I have a competiting offer in hand?
No they would probably tell u to just accept that
Only use competing offer after u finish interview to get a response faster
Telling them you got competing offer is a double edge sword. if they are on the fence abt you they won’t take the chance on you at all but if your a super strong applicant than they rush to accept you. If you haven’t gotten the interview invite yet your probably in the first half so I personally wouldn’t
@halcyon mango
yeah thanks for the advice! I was also thinking the same thing
my only concern is that i'm not going to be hearing back from microsoft
Does anyone know how long they interview ppl for? The team I was supposed to interview for is full so they’re cancelling my interview but invited me to interview with a diff team in over a month from now so im concerned they’ll fill the spots by then
No idea but ik alot of offers are coming out so headcount is filling up
but if they said thers another team just hope for that
if you check reddits and stuff people are getting stack ranked out of the process and waitlisted so maybe try and ask and see if you can interview earlier
most companies includling microsoft try to wrap it all up before thanksgiving because it drastically slows down after that because alot of people will take holidays in winter/DEC
@oblique egret which job ID did you interview for?
1875937
slurp is this true? should i be worried if i haven't heard back yet? its been 2~ weeks since i completed my oa
if your part of the AI ML one
im pretty sure no one has gotten an interview for that
@halcyon mango
it highly depends on ur team ur intervewing for
if u did the OA maxed it and u didnt or smth which would flag u
a recrtuierr should reach out it took mine excatly 2 weeks so u should be fine
Took maybe 4-6 weeks for me to get a response after OA (full score)
