#Anduril vs Palantir

although valuation is already pretty high, idk what the RSUs are going to look like for RO
can confirm that anduril will not keep u stuck in defense industry lmao. we know a guy who's brother is at anduril and he's assailed by recruiters from all kinds of companies
pltr more stable/consistent/established and it probably pays better, but ur right that fdse is as much consulting as it is swe
also @lapis heath curious as to why u picked fdse for palantir when u wanna stay technical
Yea Anduril
pre IPO stock could be worthless or possibly worth a lot in the future but u can’t immediately sell it. Public stock (for the most part) has less risk and less upside
palantir kinda diff though since their stock is wonky
I hate paper money as much as the next guy but anduril will prob ipo
You have the ability to auto sell
If u care about doing SWE
Don’t do fdse
so the way RSUs work is they determine x dollars to give you in stock, so the higher the valuation the less individual stock units that is
once u get the stock units its ur choice what to do with them. anduril is private so you can't sell the stock units until they IPO. when a company IPOs (see figma this summer), the public can buy it, so all the ppl that were just randos not affiliated with the company can invest in it. the hype usually leads to the stock going up.
thing is unless it's figma where they IPOed way too low, getting in pre ipo is generally not that lucrative unless ur super early. for example someone that got into figma in 2018 got 150k worth of stock when the company was deemed 400m in value. figma is worth a lot more than that now so the 150k stock is like tens of millions now i think.
the idea is anduril has potential and the public is keen to invest and will buy in at higher prices than vcs will price the company at, which gives employees the ability to sell for a lot
Anduril is already valued at like $30b tho
ah
ya then there's little upside
tbh u have to get these things early]
once ppl are talking this and that about how the ipo is gonna be so good ur cooked
figma was the last one
Yea mofos on this sub be talking about “pre-ipo potential” for companies already worth north of $10b 😂
this why i be telling ppl to take notion lowkey....
then again idk
but if u want to gamble on ipo upside look at series c ish startups that have a lot of talent from top schools
Notion’s revenue stream is wonkey tho
Anduril mogs
i think they have potential
Do they? They can’t land big enterprises as customers
The only ppl that use them are students who have no money and small startups
Like google workspace, atlassian, mfst office are just better
what notion needs to do (are you listening @shivani?) is rewrite their client side code in cpp like figma so it doesn't hog insane ram and is more performant
once it's a smoother experience it's doable
Yea also the app is kinda ass lol
msft office
Like it’s better than it was a couple years ago but the performance is still not great
but yes i'm biased cuz i worked on confluence but i think confluence is better and it integrates with the whole atlassian sphere way better
It’s bc mfst office has its own ecosystem and integrations
msft products are gapped asf i'm not hearing any of this out 💀
Like notion is basically just a note takeing app
If anything they’re overvalued
Anyways I digress
Anduril is prob the move where
here
If u want to do traditional SWE
palantir is more well known and considered to have a higher bar though i'm not sure that
that's true
Palantir is more prestigious but everyone in tech knows what anduril is
this
also fdse doesnt have levels
so exit opps are wayyy more inconsistent
it's less known slightly but i think the work would make up for it
whats like on example
Not enough to go public
And it’s only $500 m arr after 10 years
There’s no upside
This mf a villain
