#Resume feedback aiming for big tech or HFT grad next year (non-US)

summer 2025 intern but starting in nov 2025?
i feel like the tiktok points lack specificity in what you did to achieve your metrics
your education section seems really bulky, youd be much better off cutting a lot of that and adding another project
seasons are a bit different here
u reckon i should cut down some A+ flexes and make one more solid project
i intentionally thought 3 projects is a bit overkill and was thinking of removing the redis clone project to some custom OS made with C/C++ i am making rn
you could prob remove this and also shorten your hackathon stuff to be one line
unless its very significant in your country i feel like a lot of recruiters wont really recognize the significance of it
you also have a decent amount of whitespace on your lines, you could do some work to optimize your lines so that you're not losing space on your resume
the red that i marked is the whitespace you're leaving, this can easily by itself be like an entire project
thats actually so fair didnt think about that
never thought of the horizontal whitespaces
i would keep coursework, and keep A+'s tbh since i feel like it wouldnt rlly take much more space
and its decent signal
then should I cut down some tiktok metrics, remove the CS Mentor/Trainee lead, and add one project in ur opinion?
the metrics seem solid, but i think its better to add specificity to what you did in order to achieve those metrics. if your tiktok section ends up becoming too verbose, then i would take the top k best points and cut the rest
also that one month internship is near useless because i quit the job without learning anything, idk if i should remove that or not
i just started writing some real code then quit the job for tiktok
icic
i mean you can always play it up to be slightly more than you actually did
if its work exp i would keep it until it feels like you have too much to put on your resume
okay thanks, appreciate the feedback
np!
i think you delete
can't BS content for a 1 month position
and it just looks like a red flag
yep also what I was thinking. hopefully after I start my google sre I can have enough dot points to remove that whole thing
can i dm you actually
want to ask you advice
ngl the google sre experience would be a turnoff
to a recruiter
it makes u sound like a dick (even if ur not intending to be)
wdym
can u elaborate?
is it because i put incoming
not a real experience yet
you said "one of the 18 incoming interns"
which doesn't even make fucking sense bc google hires way more than 18 interns each summer lmao
not everyone lives in the US lol
those numbers are real...
my country is tiny bro
i wouldn't put a future experience personally but if u are going to do that, don't say that lol
but how do u even know headcount
btw my man u needa learn how to talk less agressively and read the post title that clearly says non-US ๐
lol i'm playing with u my guy
all fun and games
but still point is it makes u look like a prick
welcome to google
honestly idk how good sre is for quant procs
also do u go to oxbridge?
IIT?
nah its just 7/10 of my close group of friends and other 3 incl me got big tech
and i am getting HFT fomo
neither
oh so waterloo ig
but anyways
sure u can prob get hft
with google, tikky tokka on ur res
hopefully, but like tbh I will be pretty happy with Google grad RO
considering i never wrote a single line of code before uni
250k is far away a good salary dude ๐ญ
u can also prob just go for oai
nah HFT is more like a preference, I will maybe try for grad interviews next year but i am not diehard for HFT
they'll be hiring SREs
this is fair
with the hundreds of billions of dollars they're about to waste on datacenters
i also know a decent (not enough tho) amount of C++, i am a TA for a C++ course rn
ifl i'm barely surviving tbh
so maybe i was gonna try
