I did the process last cycle and thought I'd share here since I keep getting dms
Phone Stage:
You’ll talk with a recruiter about your experience, what kind of work you want to do, and which game or area you’d be interested in. If you get matched with a team, that’s when the interview stage starts. Just a heads up, the whole process can take around 6 months unless they’ve sped it up recently.
Interview Stage:
1. Technical Interview
- You’ll go over your OA code (they’ll email it to you beforehand).
- You’ll explain your solution, time and memory complexity, why you did what you did, and what you’d improve.
- Second half of the interview is random data structures and algorithms trivia, like “what’s a hashmap?”, “what’s a BST?”, “how are they different?”, etc...
2. and 3. Values Interviews
- If you pass the technical, you move on to two “values” interviews.
- The first one is standard behavioral stuff, “tell me about a time when…” type questions.
- The third interview is with the manager of the team you’re interviewing for. This one is more culture-heavy and focuses on how well you align with Riot’s values.
Offer Stage:
If you make it through all that, you move on to the offer stage.
Note: The first and second interviews are with people from the same org, but not your actual team. The third interview is with your (hopefully soon-to-be) manager.
For reference, my process took around 6 months from OA to rejection
