#Microsoft vs Hubspot
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
hub is still gonna get u past a lot of res screen maybe a bit less than microsoft ofc but i think if u alr like hub and know that u want remote then go for it
How is this even a question? It’s Microsoft lmfao
Are ppl even reading the post? OP doesn’t care about the RO. Even if u think the work at mfst won’t be that great, Microsoft has much better res value than hubspot
depends on how much you value remote work
but under normal circumstances probably msft
for better exit opportunities
for internships, ppl should just prestige max tbh
yea ig it depends on if they wanna return to hubspot yk
You can just recruit for remote jobs new grads
fair but a much smaller chance of getting that
They can always apply and get into hubspot again
i feel like hubspot kinda rng honestly
Plus OP doesn’t have FAANG+ on his res
fair, again, I honestly think it depends on how much you value remote work
cuz hubspot would yield much higher chance of getting that with ro
versus msft better res value if you wanna recruit after internship
But the exit opps at mfst are better
when did u take hubspot final?
Why don’t you just do both? Hub has off season
Why no msft ft? Culture/lay offs?
Otherwise if you are not taking Microsoft NG, then just take Hubspot. NG recruiting is a pain in the ass and also there’s very few remote companies to begin with.
backend or frontend?
Just ask recruiter to push back to fall or spring?
no
just ask nicely
Also keep in mind Hubspot promotes faster than Microsoft , at least to the next level
Which is about ~240K TC when you’re senior 1
It varies but usually 1.5 years
I’ve seen ppl take 10 months and some take 2+ years so YMMV
Also depends on which org for msft
do yk which org for msft
Oh that sounds good
I was gonna say if ur Xbox ur cooked
Not only bad wlb, but layoffs
Games aren’t super profitable
Xbox always gets hit hardest
during layoffs
This is low key an interesting org
I think ur best bet is spring
They usually don’t let ppl push ngl
But it’s worth a try
Their spring and summer hiring timeline is at the same time so just ask for spring
Do you know anything about Windows + Devices WSSI
Nah I don’t sorry. I was only in Xbox, it was cooked af
Yeah but for this thread def try to push hubspot to off season
Yes
Ng recruiting isn’t that bad if u have res value
yea but he wants remote there’s not a lot of companies that do remote NG so if he gets unlucky he might end up without a NG remote offer
if remote is important to u id stick with hub but idk what their ro rate is
Please go to mfst
Microsoft no brainer 😭
Idk how the market will be next year but as someone who’s recruiting ng now, it’s way tougher than intern recruiting and I would recommend getting an ro at a company u would want return to
I’d take hubspot here
na you can be remote from anywhere that's on CST or EST you don't have to be in boston
he said if ur west coast
west coast cant do remote
If ur Canadian HubSpot is onsite mandatory
Wait is it possible to move after 1 year?
Its a cold cruel world out here 😭
Are u at hub rn?
Wait I thought internship was chill? Care to elaborate? I was also an intern
Oh yeah I heard Trellis interns got hella cooked. Were u winter
wait dm
Are you Canadian?
Ah ok nvm I thought you were someone else
Trellis intern this summer got cooked too
RO rate in the summer was pretty cooked too, not just in trellis
yup same in the summer
what are the ro rates for mfst r they cooked?
u mean at hub or in general
heard they were 85 prev years but then this year got cooked
did u also intern at microsoft
surprsing that microsoft ro got cooked
they usually have high ro
so does the trellis team still exist?
