Zip is a really good company to work for as a new grad (talent density is very high, pretty good wlb, and mentorship for Ng is a really big focus for them). Not sure what the potential is for stock.
I think Nuro might be a bit of a better brand name.
Zip also raised their series d just last year and they’re still expanding pretty fast
For brand name zip is kinda one of those companies where if u know u know but if u don’t you’ll think it’s some random company
A good number of VCs I’ve talked to knew what it was and seemed to be impressed by having an offer there. Same with a few students (specifically from Berkeley where prob the majority of the engineers come from).
It doesn’t really have general recognition though, but I see a lot of ppl went from Zip -> Google/Ramp/DB, etc but that might be more so the engineers are generally pretty good (a lot had prev big tech) rather than Zip’s brand itself
As for the paper, yea it’s too early to tell tbh. They only hit their 5th year anniversary this summer
One thing I can say is that they’re not overvalued. Their revenue numbers are fairly strong for a $2 billion company

If you’re interested in fintech and banking infra go plaid
Zip vs Whatnot I would just do whatever team interests you the most (both are scaling incredibly fast and are in hypergrowth)
