what is your past experience and what do you want to do. This is such a useless poll without this info
🤣
what
legit how
it’s not
i was at citadel this summer
it’s like 50-55 hours a week on most desks
some even less
and I know many people who worked 60-70 hours too
some are a bit more back office but rare
some back office orgs are a little grindier
also this is internship
like yes interns work as late as they want
"prestige" not even entirely true
loo only
how are you confidently saying this. By what metric
They hire less but Citadel is still not a tech company.
I don't think you can confidently say for tech companies in the bay they'd all prefer Citadel over DB
I mean I've talked to recruiters who said the opposite
that's why
what's your signal
I have
lol
but that's because those people who got DB probably didn't get Citadel
Idk if its as clear cut like that, db definitely doesn’t have as bad wlb as citadel
Prestige wise they are probably about the same, just because you see more people joining doesn’t suddenly make it less prestigious
If you want to work in quant space / have higher starting tc / live in nyc then go citadel
Else go db
Dbs advantages are probably more interesting engineering work and ipo potential
even if it IPOs how mcuh more is your stock going to be worth
I agree maybe 2-3 years ago 100% DB but
Thats true, its not an insane upside but still something to consider
citadel if u don’t want a return offer
how lol
if ai goes bust db is just cooked
their product isnt even fundamentally ai related they just leaned so heavily into it
the moment one of openai oracle or nvidia cant shell out anymore 100b its cooked
its just a snake eating its tail
would go cit assuming u already have a meta/google type company on ur resume
1 t1 tech + 1 quant ull be chill
Lmao if you think aws emr is as good as db then you haven’t done your research
